PORTSMOUTH 1 READING 1

(Quinn - Pen after 51 mins) Att: 8,000

Readings start was very dodgy to say the least. The new look back four did their best to give Pompey a head start by letting a goal in after only three minutes. A couple of minutes later they could have had a couple more but after then it was the normal story of Reading dominating the game but unable to make their chances count. Throughout the game the defence looked rather dodgy without Dovey who got injured against Boro on Tuesday night. The new look back four consisted of Bernal and Macca in the centre with Dyl and Gooding as the full backs.

Gilkes had a good game and his crosses really got Knight in the portsmouth goal in a bit of bother. He managed to get bought down twice for penalties. Except the one the first half wasn`t given. In apparently the most obvious penalty you will ever see the refereee just waved play on. In the second half the ref deceided maybe he had better give this one and so up stepped Quinn to slam the ball in the net and earn us the point. This was Quinns only real contribution to the game except the occasional miss when all he had to do was kick it straight. We should have got all 3 points but the draw increases our unbeaten run so its not so bad.
