Royals Sign George Evans From Manchester City

Reading have confirmed the signing of midfielder George Evans from Manchester City. Evans signs on a three and a half year contract to keep him at Reading until the summer of 2019. Evans, at just 21 years old, fits firmly into the category of huge potential. Reading may have plenty of possibilities in midfield but Evans clearly remains an impressive signing. He has spent the season so far on loan at Reading's FA Cup fourth round opponents League One Walsall, but was recalled at the weekend sparking rumours of his move to Reading, which was confirmed today.
He has impressed at Walsall scoring on his debut in a 2-0 win at Barnsley and following it up with another strike his following game. Evans arrives at Reading after clocking up 16 appearances and 4 goals at Walsall. His penultimate match for the Saddlers was in the 1-0 win at Brentford in the third round of the FA Cup - so he will not be eligible to face his old side for the Royals in the next round.
Evans has progressed through the ranks at Manchester City and started the season by making his senior debut for City, coming off the bench as a late substitute in their League Cup win at Sunderland. He has also had loan spells at Crewe and Scunthorpe. Evans could make his debut this weekend as Sheffield Wednesday visit the Madejski Stadium.

@City_Watch which is a shame as he would be a great player for us

Will he count as the obligatory signing from a club we're playing the in FA Cup seeing as been on loan there nearly all season and had only just renewed the loan.
16 apps and 4 goals for Walsall this season, he obviously has played for them in the FA Cup (3 apps 1 goal) so won't be eligible for us in the unlikely event of any cup run.
One for the future maybe - or perhaps one for the bench this season?
Personally I'd start looking at next season and include players like Evans, Toshiba, Cooper, Bond as often as possible for the rest of this season.
