Hunt May Miss Out On Liverpool Game

Reading striker Noel Hunt may miss out on tomorrow's trip to Liverpool as Reading's hunt for the first three points of the Premier League season goes on. Hunt has a heel injury, which, although minor, may see him rested. Jason Roberts came off the bench to replace Hunt two weeks ago when The Royals were last in League action in the 2-2 draw at Swansea City. Meanwhile, Roberts has hit the headlines this week for speaking out about football's Kick It Out campaign. Roberts thinks the campaign isn't doing enough to combat racism within the game and has said he won't be wearing a campaign t-shirt. Other players from Reading and other clubs look set to follow his example. It's a cunning way to draw further attention to the issue of on-going racism - probably more effective than everyone silently turning out in the t-shirts once more. Roberts clearly isn't happy with the on-going attitude in the game so full credit to him for taking a stand and getting in all the sports pages today.

Liverpool are one of the rare "big clubs" that Reading have a reasonable recent record against. Reading have won two of their last four meetings with Liverpool. Our last trip to Anfield was that magical FA Cup victory when Sigurdsson scored from the spot to force extra time and Shane Long scored that memorable winner in extra time to put the home side out. Throw in the Brendan Rodgers effect, and Liverpool's dodgy start to the season, and we might be in for a special day this weekend.
