stick to a similar line-up to the team unsuccessful against Leyton Orient.
Sammy Igoe is virtually guaranteed a start after a couple of blinding performances
down the right wing. In defence there could be a change following another
poor defensive game. Hunter or Viveash could be dropped in favour of Mackie.
Gurney's days at right back could well be numbered as well, with Newman

had a decent win in the second leg of their Worthington cup first round
tie during the week - winning 2-1 at home to Bristol City (after a 2-2 away
draw in the first leg). Brenford came back from a goal down to win with
two goals in the last thirteen minutes. In the league they're doing a bit
worse than Reading and lie 13th in the second division table, but they're
unbeaten away from home with a win at Oxford in the league and a draw with
Northampton on the first day of the season. Brentford have already conceeded
seven goals in the league and scored just the four, so the game should be
balanced in Reading's direction. Reading will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing mid-week defeat to third division Leyton Orient at the Madejski Stadium. If we play like we did against Orient we could be in for another defeat - but hopefully Pardew will have had some strong words. In the league we've had a win and a draw at home, and if we've got any chance of going up this season we need to win home games like this one. A win could see Reading in the top five. |
