Reserved / Unreserved Seating Poll - January 2001

Earlier this season Reading Football Club sent out cards to survey season ticket holders to see if they would prefer unreserved or reserved seating in the East and North stands for next, and future, seasons. The club intend to use these results to influence their decision on whether the stands should remain as unreserved seating or change to reserved seating. Between the 18th of January and the 31st of January Hob Nob Anyone? ran an on-line vote to ask all Reading FC fans, season ticket holders or not, their opinion on reserved seating at the Madeksi Stadium. The results of this poll are shown below and clearly show that fans want both the East and North stands to remain unreserved seating.

In summary the results clearly show that fans are in favour of retaining unreserved seating in both the East and North stands of Madejski Stadium. However the results show that fans are more concerned about seating arrangements in the East Stand where nearly all voters expressed an interest. Fans seem less concerned about the North Stand - but if pushed the majority would go for unreserved seating in that stand too. Season ticket holders, the only supporters surveyed by the club, are less keen on unreserved seating in the East Stand than non season-ticket holders - but even so the majority voted for unreserved seating. Four out of five non-season ticket holders would like the East Stand to remain unreserved - and nearly 72% across all fans - which should send a clear message to the club.
