Re: Next seasons kit choice?

So, 2017/18 - 20 years of football at madjeski, and 30 years since our Simon cup win. Hoping for a gold away kit for reference to the wembley win, and maybe a design that is similar to our 1st kit at the madjeski? Be nice if they did something other than the usual puma template.

Not sure what GetReading will think about their RFC reporter not going to arguably their biggest game for many years - how will they get the clicks?!

CLicked a few GR links today - mostly not football related. Said it before about GR but like my post today on the Pissed Off thread - web sites like this are totally sh*te It's just hard and challenging to view the content. Frequently I'm re diverted, adverts open and pop up, those that don't are i...

Re: How are you getting to Wembley?

Was planning on parking around Hilingdon / Ickenham / Ruislip and catching the metropolitan to Wembley Park. Any recommendation for which one and where to park? Official station car parks ok?

Re: Play Off Final Tickets

Totally pathetic IMHO. http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/sport-opinion/opinion-cant-face-another-reading-13082830 Football is all about the highs and the lows, and the lows make the highs better. He was working for a national in 95? How old is this guy? I assumed mid 30's by his pics and video's on...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Yep, all fair points. I know they have every right to do what they are doing, and if they didn't, someone else would've - but it would have been nice if they came in and developed the land for the benefit of the club - so that the profits were shared with the club, rather than siphoned off to a sepa...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Depends on what happens next, though. If they then sell off 75% of the football side of the business, but keep all of the land surrounding the club, (regardless of whether RFC got £15m for the land - which probably offsets the amount they have "invested"), it very much appears that they on...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Land is an asset I guess, and the Thais, as owners have every right to sell the land (to themselves). I'm just uncomfortable that the club was given that land by RBC (IIRC) as a club & community asset. Is it right that the thais have essentially sold that off for their own private gain?

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Help me out here..... The Thai's want to sell a stake, thought to be 75%, but now unknown amount in Reading FC to the Yongge's. This only relates to the football part of the company though, not the entire holdings, which also includes the land around the stadium which will make up Royal Elm Park. So...

Meeting the Players

Quick question - Taking my 7 year old son to the Rotherham game on his birthday - what's the best chance of meeting one / some of the players? What time do they arrive at the ground?

Re: Record Watch 2016-17

Sorry old bean, but that's some barking mad arithmetic you're showing there, unless I've somehow missed your point? Newcastle, currently on 40 points after 18 matches. That leaves 28 matches to play, with 84 points to play for. 84 + 40 = 124. So, in the Champ, the number of points that need to be d...

Re: Fulham FA Youth Cup back from game

Well that was a classic game of two halves. At half time I said to my mate that the lads had been magnificent. First to every ball and 4-0 at half time would not have flattered them. The Fulham keeper was sent off because he was last man. It seemed very harsh but was the correct decision by the let...

Drank some of Archie's bottle of champagne standing in the directors box after we got through to 94/95 playoff final - the Tranmere game - My brother and I decided to stand up by the directors box as everyone was huddled round the tunnel waiting for the players to come back out - then they all appea...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2013/14

With the modern games inching it's way towards a non-contact sport - does the size/strength of a young player matter that much any more?
