Re: Football Buses

Feel free to correct me but it looks like a single matchday return is now £7,50 and a single £5.50. It was £5.50 return a game last year. It is now £5.50 for U19 return. So for me a increase of £2 per match for me from £5,50. That is a pretty hefty increase.

Re: BFTG - Fulham

Premier league penalty given by a premier league referee. Not sure a championship referee would have given it. Technically correct decision but like others have said you would of hated it to be given against you.

Re: SERIOUSLY STOP BOOING

Have to agree. They really need to say to one another Gosh that is the 20th square pass along the backline and only 18 minutes gone or I wonder why Al Habsi hasn't had his usual 5 dodgy back passes by now. Don't be shy, back the boys and shout out loudly "Backwards" or "Keepers On&quo...

Noted in the same bit of Get Reading in the article where the Head of Forest is resigning that the school is in talks with RBC about siting the covered domes (indoor training area?) at the school which may suggest the housing will be the first thing going up at the site. Nobody ever asks about the n...

Re: From April 1st OAP`s have to pay on Football buses

Harsh on RBC whose support comes from reading council tax payers who subsidise these routes, pretty much all of which run outside the borough boundaries, getting no help from West Berks or Wokingham. RBC can no longer afford the subsidy the club have done the right thing by stepping in until the end...

Having heard him talk, he is ambitious and I would expect him to go if he he got an offer from a "bigger" club. Having said that I don't see that this season although the summer could be interesting.

Re: Are The Youngsters Being Frozen Out?

With that logic why bother with an academy that can't produce first team players? Look at our recent signings, products of other teams academies and all in their early twenties (Moore, Blackett, Swift & Evans) - they are at a similar age as our guys. It would suggest that our lot have been overh...

Re: M Antonio

More likely Hammond's decision for him to go along with the player himself who made it crystal clear he was not going to sign a new contract. He was very raw at RFC and HNA mainly thought he was shit because he couldn't control a ball and his crossing was wayward (probably similar to Cooper at prese...

Re: BTFG Wolves

Depressingly all we are doing at the moment is copying what we did under Atkins. The same pointless passing along the back five - that has got f all to do with Barcelona or Dutch football in general (except maybe for Ajax) it is just sh*te football. If you keep doing it then players don't take respo...

Re: Is this the end for Madejski?

I would expect that SJM was behind the move with Hammond and Howe to bring back McDermott. McDermott had a well paid job with Arsenal and only quit that job for RFC. He has stated that he would only have done that for RFC and on receiving personal requests to do so, he wasn't interested in managing ...

Re: BFTG - Fulham

Observations on yesterday. We can carry one "luxury" player but will not win many games home or away in the championship with Piazon and Vydra in the same side. Dilemma for Clarke is who to put on the bench. Piazon who has contributed goals and assists and who Chelsea will pay to see in th...

Pearce is what? 26? And Team Captain? And we expect him to take a wage cut? You just cant expect somebody at that stage of his career to do that - loyalty or not. if we gambled that he wouldnt find alternative employment - well that backfired. I very much hope we can still secure his services becau...

Re: SPACULATION - Federici to Bournemouth

Another poor decision (driven by an unwillingness to invest sensibly) by the Board & Hapless Hammond who are now joined by Clueless Clarke. We now have no senior goalkeepers under contract and have sacked an excellent, well proven and highly thought of (by two managers who took us to the PL) go...

Re: Bibbo and Armstrong gone?

Posted earlier that the old Nicky Hammond role doesn't appear to exist now as Clarke is talking as if he operates on budgets directly from the Thais in respect of first team affairs. Hammond may or may not have a role in the scouting set up but I would guess now he has been moved over to the new Aca...

Re: Bibbo and Armstrong gone?

This is surely Clarke establishing his control at the club. Very noticeable in all his public statements he hasn't mentioned Hammond once or the DoF role, instead he has stated that he has spoken to the Thais directly about what he wants to do. He has refocused on overseas scouting and is now cleari...
