melonhead its a decent players wages for a year.

we got rich owners now, we shouldn't have to worry about this :D

you dont get rich by throwing half a million quid a year away

If you're making say a million a year then it would technically be possible :?

Re: Time to drop London Irish?

How many rugby games in a season?

If it's 20, and we make £750k a year from them then basically it costs £37.5k a time to hire it out.

Cheap at the price perhaps, but it's an asset sat there otherwise doing nothing.

Re: Time to drop London Irish?

ZacNaloen ^ previous problems with the pitch were due to an infection of some fungus and overzealous use of weed killer.

Pretty embarrasing for the ground staff - was an explanation as to how this happened ever given?

The departure of Gordon Neate was always going to be tough TBF.

Re: Stadium naming - where you stand

Interesting.

I guess Wembley you don't call The Wembley Stadium, but then that's because it's a geographic name.

West Stand Man To be pedantic (and why shouldn't I) it is "Madejski Stadium" not "the Madejski Stadium".

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Maybe. That certain is true, but all the evidence suggests that there are loads Of other reasons why people who love to have secret bank accounts in Non-English jurisdictions like to take over English football clubs. English authorities want to see full ownership details published, Yet clubs are st...

Re: Swindle Town

I've never liked the 'us' thing, too tribal.

Ultimately it's entertainment and if you get fed up with it then yeh, stop going and if there's another team you would enjoy watching in the local area then why wouldn't you give that a go?

Re: Swindle Town

:?: I can't believe he's abandoned RFC  When they move the ground out of an industrial estate to somewhere with decent pubs, let me stand without fear of persecution and don't deafen me with post-goal music, I might return. Until then, I'll happily enjoy pre-match pints in the excellent Kemble...

Re: Going to watch 'General Football'

Got a free ticket to go and watch Chelsea tomorrow. It'll be the first top flight game I've seen since watching Southampton at the Dell circa 2001.

More interested in the prawn sandwiches than the match tbf.

Re: Mcdermott Signs New Contract

Reading between the lines I would guess what was said was about AZ's ambition to be in the Premier League and potentially what he could do investment wise to get us there? Just a guess. If rumours are to be believed it was that Anton would seriously reconsider purchasing the club if McDermott wasn'...

Re: Mcdermott Signs New Contract

According to SSN Wolves asked for permission to speak to Brian but we didn't reply and gave him a new contract. Lol now that is the way to do business, just don't reply! Maybe we should have done that when the phone was ringing for Long I'm amazed this "need permission to speak to someone"...

Re: Mcdermott Signs New Contract

Are you watching Pardew and Mcghee?, thats called loyalty pair of f*cking shits, Call it that if you like, I'd call it using another club as bargaining power to get a payrise. Fair fvcks to him though I'm sure we've all done similar in our professional lives (albeit through a union in your case Cha...
