Re: The non-league thread 2008/9

Aldershot's absence will be temporary this season. Normal service will resume next season. are you saying that aldershot will play in different league tiers during the coming season? i hope beyond all hope that reading avoid another relegation(something aldershot have never experienced) and that sa...

Re: The Non-league thread

You are struggling there I'd say in what way? do a team from aldershot appear in the football league again from next season? Back would suggest they have been there before. Perhaps they should have an asterisk next to the statement with a footnote at the bottom of the shirt saying *In no way does A...

Re: The Non-league thread

g why does it say on the aldershot kit back in the football league? is there a joke somewhere

is it because a team from aldershot are back in the football league, the culmination and intent of the dedicated group that launched the new side when the old club was folded up in the courts of law?

Re: The Non-league thread

so..exeter regain league status. the garrison boys elect for the first time.the likes of torquay, oxford and cambridge(is there a joke somewhere there about being sent down?) may find it difficult to escape the conference as the money atrophies.

Re: Cuddly Scottish fans

it has been mentioned in some quarters removed from the forth estate that a notorious section of chelsea "supporters" were in fact leading the lawlessness. i cannot,of course, swear to the accuracy of this scenario.

Re: A comedy farmer writes ...

i am not sure that the garrison boys, being the "youngest" side ever to achieve league status, have fans with the wit and sagacity to compete on football message boards with those affiliated to clubs with much longer histories.

T.R.O.L.I. Not sure what bearing that would have had on Torquay seeing that Cambridge United would already be in League 2 seeing as they finished second in the league...

Re: The Non-league thread

Well what can i say about today's game? Still shocked at what i saw, 3-1 up overall absolutely crusing home, Rayner didn't have a meaningful save to make, happy days then in 18 mad minutes, 46 league games worth of work is tossed away in one of the most spectacular blow ups I've ever seen. The pena...

So they want it both ways...English FA Cup, English League but play the "Welsh anthem"...make your minds up boyos! I think a welcome set of banners on the three motorway junction bridges as they pass up the M4 to Wembley is in order! Any ideas for content? how about "welcome to to li...

Re: The Non-league thread

There is also 1860 Munich. I presume thats when they were founded? I thought Sheffield FC were founded in the 1850s 1860 were founded as a sports club, but didn't take up football until much later. Sheffield FC don't play at the same ground they played at when they formed, which appears to be the c...

Re: Worried by Watford?

little seems to be made of the point that the reading"record" applies only since the award of three points for a win. many other sides "bettered" the points achieved from points possible under the two for a win system.back in the days of real football:)
