Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Won't somebody please think of the footballers! If you put it into context If one of us earns more than a nurse we are likely to live a more expensive lifestyle than a nurse - have a bigger mortgage, have more kids, have a more expensive car on lease, that sort of thing. Maybe if you expect to earn...

Franchise FC According to mine, he told me don’t worry, be happy

Did you hear it through the grapevine?

My source also expects there to be an exodus

That matches up with my source, who said that he shot the sheriff but not the deputy. I took this to mean that Dayong Pang is still alive.

Re: Have your go at being ITK

I have some predictions for next week:

- People might think there will be news on Monday, but no.
- On Tuesday, the sun will rise and set.
- THere will be a Wednesday as scheduled.
- Sources indicate Thursday
- There will be no Friday due to the Bank Holiday

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Dai basically made two mistakes, but they're both pretty bad. 1) Put too much of his own money into the squad rather than follow the profit and sustainability rules (which would probably have led to better recruitment), ultimately forcing us to work under EFL sanctions for years on end. 2) Ran out ...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

I'm not sure there's a site big enough to build a new stadium in the town centre. It's not just the footprint of the stadium that you have to consider so it's a complete non starter IMO. Quite. Think the only possibility is demolishing the Broad Street Mall and entirely reworking that end of Broad ...

Re: Ex Players

Interesting read on Greg Halford and his autism diagnosis. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68617366 His Premier League break came at Reading, becoming their record signing in January 2007. However, a first transfer was always going to be tricky. "It was the first move to Reading where I'd...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

WestYorksRoyal Akande played one game on my FM24 save due to an injury crisis and scored a hat trick. Didn't play him again though, his stats were rubbish and my coach said he was a non league player.

Imagine how people would react if that happened in real life.

Re: Should Hobnob contribute to the Club, or one of the supporter groups like SBWD?

A very fair point! I'll have to check the numbers! Back in the day this used to run at a loss and I'd have to put my own money in to pay for what was (back then) obscene bandwidth. That was when I had to put in restrictions on images and avatar sizes to restrict what I was paying out. Thankfully ba...

Re: Wycombe will be culpable.

MouldyRoyal I'd like to thank Wycombe for helping out their local neighbours, good eggs them lot

Not sure how they are going to keep it running, mind.

It’s like when we helped them out by buying Simon Church. Or when we helped Cork out by buying Alan Bennett.

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Palmer Park is difficult because of the leisure centre and adjoining football pitches and the car park being tiddily. I'm also not sure whether the internal dimensions support a football pitch. But yes that's the best option if it does come to that. Is there not a football pitch in the middle alrea...

Re: The phoenix club thread

It might sound ridiculous but if the council could be encouraged to buy the Mad Stad then it's not something to be ruled out. I'd ask the question. Easier to rent off the council and if the club is well supported, it'll shoot through the leagues. It might be a lot of fun but it's still something I ...

St Pauli It’s a bit of a weird record anyway, given that it’s been beaten in lower leagues.

Lower leagues don't count. Neither do higher leagues.

If Usain Bolt runs 100m in 9.67 seconds in the Olympics, good for him, but he doesn't hold the Waingels Year 9 100m record.

Re: Ex Players

That's a bizarre overreaction to a minimal comment about an ex player. I have never called for him to be "cancelled" (not that he has a public facing role that would make that even feasible) nor did I even state anything particularly negative about him. He's entitled to his views, as ill ...

Re: Wycombe will be culpable.

Well, might Wycombe also be interested in buying a decent local-ish stadium close to a major motorway at a bargain price too? Adams Park is small capacity and difficult to access and so is limiting for a club with ambitions to rise up the leagues. Maybe the phoenix club can pick both the stadium an...

Re: The phoenix club thread

I do have money set aside for this, but when we finally get dissolved I honestly won’t have any appetite left for football whatsoever. I will have over 50 years of memories some great and some not so good and that’ll be enough for me. If I watch any sport it’ll probably be the Royal Wootton Bassett...

Lawson D'Ath (who never actually played for us, but was a youth player for four or five years, is playing for Banbury United... scored 2 goals this season, which is his second highest tally at a club with Northampton and his 11 goals there being the most. Scored one goal for each club he played for...

I take it that's a level higher than what he was playing at. Good luck to him. Beaconsfield - Southern League Premier Division South Dover Athletic - National League South How does it compare to the Combined Counties? Combined Counties Premier is ninth tier (non-league step 5). It's home to Reading...
