Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

It`s over £84k now, how much does a statue cost for goodness sake? This is the problem with crowd funds. Good problem to have. Really the money should just go to a collection of good causes in Stoke. I'm sure there are plenty of mental health charities that could do good work in Stoke easing the st...

Re: Do you agree with todays pitch invasion and match abandonment?

AthleticoSpizz Missed Meridian Tonight (tonight)

Was there much mention of the proceedings on their sports coverage?

It was precis'd as a 90 second afterthought to Southampton's headline non-losing streak. No editorial content or comment.

Re: Do you agree with todays pitch invasion and match abandonment?

I don't think it has been mentioned on here, but I think STAR's (and fans) donation of £5,000 towards Vale's GoFundMe page is superb and is demonstrative of the good, kind-hearted people we have connected with our Club and the community.

To be commended.

Very well done to those concerned.

Re: Do you agree with todays pitch invasion and match abandonment?

Proud of those fans today that stood their ground and that they didn't whimper off. It had to be done. I remember Blackpool doing the same and it eventually ended up contributing to the Indian owners selling up...,.so here's hoping. No doubt about that, but in comparison to Blackpool (read up on it...

Re: Do you agree with todays pitch invasion and match abandonment?

What I don't understand is why he doesn't accept an appropriate offer now, which will include him as the primary secured creditor and run with that. Liquidation will mean he loses everything. As the main creditor, he'd be first in line when the assets get sold off. Whether he'd get more liquidating...

Re: Do you agree with todays pitch invasion and match abandonment?

The EFL, FA, UK Government, FIFA, anybody else, cannot force Dai to sell. This tiny 'investment' of his is really small potatoes compared to his financial empire. I bet what is going on here is not even registering on his daily 'to do' list, whatever protests there are. What I don't understand is wh...

Lest not forget the scorer of the winning goal in the Final that year, who was also in the Mackems line up against us, went on to be a future Reading manager!

Re: BFTG QPR

Lest not forget this is a patch and mend squad in a patch and mend season. Commonality all season has been one player who (over) performs one game is likely to be shit the next. The mis-placed euphoria on here elegising about a win and an Ince out when we get beat (or throw away a win) is so naive. ...

Hear hear Olde Biscuit!

Couldn’t have put it better and why I am one of the dozens who bothers little with this site anymore.

If you spend 23 hours a day, every day on the same internet site, I suppose you’re on the slippery slope to very sad “little man” megalomania.

Can’t blame Ince one iota for not prioritising (or caring about) the Cup this year. So whoever it is, is immaterial.

Ascotexgunner Didn't know Mariappa was still playing....scored a late one for Burton against Plymouth today.

Mariappa = mercenary. Doesn’t care where the money, erroneously, comes from. Never will. More fool the likes of us.

Re: Ex Players

I’m pretty sure Francis Joseph was signed pre-season 1987 as a Gang of Four. Colin Gordon and Linden Jones included. But I can’t remember the fourth. If indeed there was a fourth? Steve Wood, Kevin Bremner and Trevor Senior all went in the summer of 87. As replacements Reading signed went down a ch...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I have always been sceptical about black, grey and dark coloured kits with players not being easily picked out and merging in to the crowd especially during a dank floodlit evening game. I always remember the 6-3 Man U defeat at Southampton when Fergie changed the kit at half time citing my very rea...

Surprised the “aficionados” on here have not related the cost of the team this season with that of 2005. OK. Very, very early days this season but uncanny, if a very different set of circumstances, the similarities (at least in cost). Can someone list/post the equivalent fees (loans) Just proves the...

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h)

I have long advocated the ‘long ball/wingers’ game. Listening to SSN today Burnley bombarded a win at Watford today using route 1. What is wrong with this approach? Opposing teams aren’t now familiar or expecting this. It’s direct and exciting. Pulsating and positive. Put the ball as often as you ca...

Re: Why the **** are you still here ?

Mine is a very similar story to many others. First game in 1974. Intermittent STH over years. Over 70 away grounds visited. But lost the faith completely in 2016. I found my first thought on waking up on a Saturday morning was ‘Oh God. I’ve got to go to football today’ and with that realisation, I p...
