Re: BFTG Brum

Typical Championship really, we took our chances very well which was the difference. B'ham didn't really look any better/worse than us tbh - although they seemed to want to force a goal rather than score one once we'd gone in front. It definitely rattled them that sucker punch second goal, Fairly le...

Re: BFTG Sheff U FB

Sheff Utd came out turbo charged and looked far too good for us. We got what was a fairly soft looking pen to get back into it and made a credible battle of it. Reading still look suspiciously like a lazy team to me at this current time - there's talent there though. Nothing against Sheff Utd person...

Re: Birmingham (A) 7th March

In x 4 Question(s) for Papes or Brum Royal. Three of us are driving up and meeting eldest son at New Street, who’s coming down from uni. Had planned to do a spot of sightseeing, but youngest broke his leg and is still on crutches, so too much walking isn’t really on the cards. What’s the public tra...

Re: Leeds (A) Saturday February 22nd

Leeds are only filling their stadium now they're doing well. That's why they bang on and on about away support because it deflects from their patchy home support from what is a one big city club. Wouldn't pay £39 to sit in that cattle shed being pointed at by their load of woolyback chest beating sc...

Re: Leeds fans everywhere

If you're an adult and you're getting upset because people who support a different team to you celebrate when they score a goal, you need to have a word with yourself. Go up to Leeds and do the same in their stands when we score an 87th min winner and explain that sentiment to them. Good luck with ...

Re: England - the future....

It'll be players, like Sancho, who are brought up away from the English game that will get there first, imho. Germany may become a good finishing school for young English talent but for the likes of Sancho their formative years are still over here. Interestingly I think Germany have suffered a simi...

Re: England - the future....

I like Southgate in that he's always seemed determined to change what was a decrepit and outdated national set-up and create a more modern and forward looking team that's fit for purpose. It's a question of how sustainable he can make it for others to follow? The national team still has pride of pla...

Similar story to Tony LM for following England. I should think the technology may have moved on quickly as well, I'm guessing touts etc might have bots to grab online tickets these days, unless the captcha tech does its job of course. Russia v England in a sweet town like Marseille has got potential...

Re: Back from the game - Palace

Thought Palace were a yard or two quicker up top and were mostly wasteful when they could have comfortably been in front earlier than that disappointing end to the game. Zaha was certainly a step up in class for our defence to deal with but they did a decent job on the whole. If anything, i though R...

The main feature of Leicester's great effort this season seems to be the taking advantage of everyone else's utter complacency - Good on 'em.

Re: Coldest away end in Football

Went to Ajax once in the home end of the Arena and it was cold enough to make your piss solid. Yeah, another shout for Oldham, it can be bone achingly cold on the wrong day. I'd imagine some of those in the Scottish lower leagues could push the boundaries of human endurance - prob the most extreme i...

Re: COMING SOON : Walsall (h) - FA CUP 4th Round - 30 Jan 20

Yep, was at that '86 game too :( Been once before that to a night game at Fellows Park and only once to the Bescot. Strange construction for today's new builds as it still has stanchions for the roof. Fellows Park was a dingy ramshackle ol' place. Although, I do remember a wall collapsing there when...

Re: CONFIMRED - Blackman to Derby

He probably wanted to move on, the price was right, we sold him.

Never felt like he was ever comfortable here after appearing to be a panic type signing from Sheff Utd whose fans seemed mildly amused at getting £1m or so for him at the time.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Must be totally frustrating for Bristol City fans though, everyone in their division last season said that they were a cut above anything else and won it at a canter. Preston have been sound enough and it's all new to MK Dons but Bristol City must have been expecting a lot better showing than they'r...

Yep, our classiest player by miles - is £4m too cheap?.........hindsight will deliver the best answer.

Reminds me a bit of Lescott when he first started out at Wolves.

Re: BFTG: Wolves away

Nowt much to get excited about there last night. Felt just like as it was i.e one of those Sky awkward kick-off time games where no one really wants to be arsed - no wonder everyone moans about them, takes the edge off the whole thing. Should've been in front, didn't take our chances then conceded a...
