Re: Best/Worst Pundit

Dare I say, Keys made a decent point (although it coming from him is a bit hilarious). Pundits are becoming way too matey and banter-y nowadays. It also risks comments like Carragher's that cross a line. I find all the japery a bit cringeworthy. Give me interesting analysis, not pub banter between ...

Re: The 92 Club - how many have you done?

Forgot to add - I've seen Reading away to Bristol Rovers at three different venues - Eastville, Twerts and the Rec

Anyone with any similar tales of sadness?

Re: Watney Cup

My dad and brother went, I was only 6 and too big a crowd I expect, think it was played pre season. It was on ITV's The Big Match the next day (seen it on YouTube somewhere) we got very favourable coverage particularly from Jimmy Hill. Charlton scored I believe. United team Alex Stepney, Paul Edwards, Tony Dunn, Pat Crerand, Ian Ure, David Sadler, Willie Morgan, Denis Law, Bobby Charlton, Brian Kidd, George Best. For comparison, what was the Reading team that day? https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.15752-9/380434028_6736367303145259_3885214658164943951_n.p...

Sanguine It's going to be a long season for Darmstadt, isn't it.

They're at home to Supercalifragilisticborussiamönchengladbach on Sunday week, so we'll get a view on whether or not they're going to get any points at all this season after that one.

....Reading's last win at the Abbey (by 1-0 back in February 1994) An act of utter larceny, we were second best all match, IIRC Clive Baskerville gave Shaka 10/10 in the EP after the match and he (Shaka, not Baskerville, for clarity) stopped at least three one-on-ones when utterly isolated from the...

Mr Angry
tulip Belgium never seem to do well in any tournaments.

Finished 3rd in 2018.........

I was arguing earlier that the one they should have won was Euro 2016, 1-0 v Wales in the QF with an hour to go

SF against Portugal would have been tougher than an unready France in the final.

The two I posted weren't. They were known and remembered. If they had been, at least I'd have made the effort to rewrite them slightly in order to try to cover my tracks ;-) Your regular quiz question "which club is located nearest to the River Mersey?" might need revision once Everton move

Re: Another odd record for Reading?

Quite a few have *never* reached the top flight. Surely that's longer... Bit like our FA Cup record. We do hold the record as having lost more FA cup games than any other league team, even if you add back Notts C from tier 5, as I believe they've won it once or twice. League team is correct, althou...

Very enjoyable - I thought that we were going to get a right Sunderlanding after the first 10 minutes but it calmed down - Carroll was immense for the hour that he was on, they gave up challenging him in the air, he was awesome, it just never fell for Tince Great work from Hoilers, Hendrick (best ga...
