Re: Playoffs not as magical

I agree, '95 was very special. '09 dare I say, feels a bit of a chore. The '95 team surpassed everyone's expectations by a mile, that's probably the main difference. Maybe if we get to Wembley the "buzz" will grow...

Re: Harper says he would give up a kidney

I'm not surprised James Harper shops in Asda - voted Britain's best value supermarket 11 years running.

Re: do you think we can win play offs

I think we'll edge past Burnley but probably get beaten in the final by Sheff Utd. I'm not planning to go to Burnley and here's why. If we lose it will be sad and depressing. If we win, then I'll have saved my money towards a special bonus day at Wembley that I wasn't really expecting a few weeks ago!

Would you be willing to swap allegiances for about 10 days? Let me send you a claret and blue scarf and a ticket for the Burnley end.

Re: Back From The Game - Barnsley

I didn't think we played hoofball today - some of the passing was not bad. My view on Kebe is that once or twice a game he makes a good run (even if the end result is uncertain) but the rest of his game (eg heading, tackling, work rate) is so poor it's almost like playing with 10 players for much of...

Re: Barnsley (H) score predictions.

A moment of creative magic from Matejovski unlocks the heavily-manned Barnsley midfield to give RFC an early advantage. This sends Barnsley into a tailspin, caught between their original defensive game plan and the need to attack having gone behind. RFC capitalise magnificently with a clinical strik...

Re: Sheff Utd Predictions....

Reading 2 Sheff Utd 0

Oh,and if it's not asking too much please can we have at least one 'normal' goal from open play, rather than own goals, Federici in the last minute, or misjudgement from match officials.

Re: Forest Predictions

I think we'll bounce back from recent uninspired performances.

Reading 3 Forest 0

Doyle, N Hunt, and Matejovski with a sublime 30 yard lob that dips inches under the bar having playewd an intricate 1-2 with himself in midfield.

Re: Back From The Cardiff Game.

Back to the game itself... Haven't been to many games recently, so not claiming to be well informed, but I didn't really like Harper and Cisse together in centre midfield, they didn't get forward much and so Doyle and NHunt struggled. Only when we were forced into attacking more near the end did we ...

Re: Dissapointed- The goal that Never was.

I'm not sure whether or not, at the time, the RFC players should have done something to rectify the 'goal'. But, surely, to replay the game now would be daft. Where would this end? How blatant would the mistake have to be for the match to be replayed - there's often handballs/offsides that it turns ...

Pondering the first 'Kid for a Quid'

I'm idly pondering when the first kid for a quid match might me. An interesting question that combines many intricately related factors including the team's likely form, the clubs sales and marketing strategies, and even macro-economics (maybe the much talked-about credit crunch will reduce attendan...

If we do well, I reckon around 22,000. If we do poorly then around 15,000.
I think we'll do well, so I go for 22,000.

Re: Nicky Shorey

I don't care that he was good in the past. He's not trying - he deserves to be booed. And dropped. And sold (or given away). I hope West Ham loose interest in him and he drifts into non-league obscurity. Good riddance.
