Re: Back from the game..

I was impressed with Henry actually, he did 3/4 top quality passes/crosses. But he does move at a canter so we possibly need to inject some pace into his game if he is going to fit into our style of play. He is almost the complete opposite of Kebe. No pace, but can really place a cross. I think a l...

Re: Back from the Game - Crystal Palace

MOM - Moses. How the guy has not been snapped up yet by a Prem club is beyond me Quite. This lad is a real talent (and English!). The only positive I can take from last night is to enjoy watching someone with his skills. I know Tabb is not a right back, but the ease with which he went past him was ...

Re: Kitson to return?

The Surgeon of Crowthorne but didn't he have a huge falling out with Lita?

I would file that comment next to 'huge falling out with Craig Bellamy' in its ability to shock people.

Re: Marek... a debate

Sorry Sun Tzu, did you see Marek looking up at the ref afterwards?..........getting little sympathy, he buried his face into the turf, and rolled around like he had just been shot. I think he just wanted to check it was Lee Hendrie that had kicked him, and seeing that it was, just did what all of u...

Re: Doyle signs extension

By signing a contract, this puts an end to any immediate transfer speculation. If we're not promoted at the end of the season, Doyle will be sold and he should go with every Reading fans blessing. He'll have made the club a nice profit, he's given us 4 good years service and he's been a model profe...

The whole year inn
Royal Fleet Given that our best crosser of the ball has also left, maybe we need to try something different!

Coppell may go for someone with out and out pace.

I assume Nicky Hammond will be taking in the Beijing 100m final later next month then?

 Dwain Chambers, he hasn't tried football yet!

Re: FAO Sir Steve

New Article on the Official Site which includes Steve Coppell has met with our Director Of Football Nick Hammond today, and the manager will now take a few days to reflect on events. My reading of this is that Coppell says he wants to go, but the club want him to consider for a few days. Expect a r...

Re: How good is Cristiano Ronaldo?

To be a true great and be mentioned in the same breath as Pele, Platini and Zidane he needs to learn some humility and honour. I think his game still has a cheating edge, and he fancies himself a bit too much. I will always consider Maradona a level below those I have mentioned for exactly these rea...

Re: All the players we 'missed out' on...

I don't think Bolton are the big winners here, they have lost one World Class player, with the ability to turn a game, into a load of players who cannot get into teams in the top half of the table.

The only player who went for a price I think it appropriate for the player was Marlon King.

Re: Great & Memorable Games at the Mad!

Reading 1-0 Forest - Friday night game between two promotion hopefuls, great atmosphere from both sets of fans, late (I think) winner from a Hughes bullet header. This is also a game that sticks in my mind. Murty will never hit a cross as well as this as long as he lives, and the header was sublime...

Re: Great & Memorable Games at the Mad!

Two more recent ones for me

5-0 vs Millwall, Convey brace, first time I began to believe we could get promoted.

6-0 vs West Ham, Best. Reading. Performance. Ever.

Liverpool game was good too.

Re: Forgotten Men of the Madejski Era

bit harsh to call Steve Brown a 'forgotten man' of the era, he was a pretty decent player for us before his retirement. The other not so widely known fact about Browns retirement was that Pardew forced him to return to the team too early due to injuries to other players and Brown maintains this cau...

1960 I think Reina might have got it if he had gone the right way, as it wasn't that hard.

I would suggest that Hunt put it the way Reina wasn't going. Good pen, 1-0, move on.

West Brom were loud when they were already promoted and we beat them 1-0. I think it was the last game 2003/2004 season. Didn't they all come dressed as Vikings as well. Always liked Baggies fans. Strange considered they have Wolves down the road, whose fans are loud mainly because of the sound of ...
