Re: RUMOUR - Alfreð Finnbogason

53 in 65 for Heerenveen and 16 in 36 for Augsburg. Ian was right, definitely not Championship quality. Yeah, the fact his career has developed nicely over 6 years and he's gone on to rather good things definitely means he was ready to walk straight into the Championship and improve our first ...

Re: CONFIMRED - Jon Dadi Bodvarsson

Royal_jimmy God help us all.

Hopefully help us defensively when we scrap for the points to avoid relegation

Gosh, I wish I had a friend as nice and cheerfully positive as you. What a delight it must be to spend time with you.

Re: Getting to games next season

What paths are closed? I normally walk through Waterloo Meadows from town and then along the river past Kennet Island to get to the stadium... Is that not going to be an option?

Re: Safe standing progress

WAZZOCK Best case scenario is they move away fans to Y24, 25 & 26, and have safe standing in the South Stand for home fans.

That would need major work to divide the East Stand Concourse and move the external gates. There is no chance that will happen.

Re: Safe standing progress

a) I'd reluctantly move if safe standing was in the ED because I much prefer the side to an end. I'd move like a shot if it was anywhere in the East I wasn't already sitting
b) no way I'd move if my ST became safe standing. I stood most of the last two seasons I went anyway.

Re: More possible FIFA fiddling to ruin the game

Surely the only times the game will be stop-start are the same as now? Except we won't lose playing time when they occur? Personally I think it's an idea fraught with problems but "the game will become American Football" or even worse "the game will become plastic" aren't really...

Re: More possible FIFA fiddling to ruin the game

Nah, not buying the anti 60 minutes stuff. Me neither. It makes serious sense to do this and to link it to a law that requires the ball to be out of play before the final whistle is blown. We'd get more football ( see the comment above re the amount of time the ball is currently in play) and there ...

Re: More possible FIFA fiddling to ruin the game

Most are fine, also don't like the penalty one. Not sure on playing on until the ball is out of play.... the ball can stay live in football for a hell of a long time.

Re: CONFIMRED - Tariqe Fosu to Chalrton

Bags of talent, question marks over his application and work rate for me. We currently play two shapes, one doesn't involve wingers or wide forwards and from what I understood he didn't follow up his Derby performance by impressing much on loan / in the U21s. Wish him all the best, and hopefully see...

Nameless
genome I think you've left a bit of an open goal there Namers

Although as we can see you can stick the ball on the 6 yard line and The Informant will still contrive to put it in Row Z !

Is Row Z Royal still around... I imagine that would be uncomfortable.

Re: Next England Manager

It was a lot like watching a slightly better Reading. Lots of standing around looking for an option, static and pedestrian passing waiting for Scotland to read the script and let us waltz through unmolested. Letting the ball slow to a crawl and thinking we could play through the most congested part ...

Re: Now starts the re-build

The goalkeeper with highest pass %age in the Championship this season was.... ........Ali Al-Habsi (71.2% successful passes). The problem isn't really with the accuracy of his passing, but more his choice of where to pass to. A completely accurate pass to the feet of a fullback who'll be under imme...

Re: Liam Kelly transfer rumours

moo I think he'd be smart to give it another year, and break into a team on a full time basis before making a big money move to sit on a bench.

Like another centre mid that left us last year..

Re: Can we all agree...?

Any argument that involves comparing what an elite sportsman is paid to do to how a random pleb would perform in the same conditions is hilariously stupid. But. I can safely say that the number of people watching, or location, would have no impact on my ability to score a penalty against a professio...

I gave up after the first few paragraphs because you're not accurately representing what I was saying. You seem to be taking my criticism rather personally, and losing objectivity as a result.

Re: I have been educated!

That's not how to play for me either. I want to see a passing style, been saying it for years. But I'd like a little zip and panache... a change of pace to turn on the style. I've seen bits and pieces of us do it this season, and in the past. But there was far too much backwards and forwards between...
