Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (h)

No, the game is off as Mansfield travel to Sheffield United in the FA Cup on 11 January. Therefore Reading have no 1st team game after Stockport on Sunday until travelling to Orient on the 17th. No date yet for the rearranged fixture. Any idea on likely windows for the rearranged Mansfield game? We...

Do we have Mansfield on 10th? They’ve been on serious form last few games. Haven’t seen it confirmed one way or another, but it’s showing as postponed on bbc No, the game is off as Mansfield travel to Sheffield United in the FA Cup on 11 January. Re: You can’t say I didn’t warn you!

In a huge fan of the academy - but it has to pay its way. This year it hasn’t. Two Kelvins only Academy players that have featured regularly and they came through years ago. And they are borderline first 11. But we also have to recognise that we’ve raided the academy heavily in the last few seasons...

Re: You can’t say I didn’t warn you!

I'm just assuming brogue has a suit of ai bots scouring the internet 24/7 for any tiny scrap of info he can post up on here and shout "Seeeeeee! I told you Couhig/Trosclair/Jacobson/Richardson were shit!!!!1!!" Why on earth would you make a point against effective journalism? I’m sure he ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burton Albion (h)

That play was terrible, from a throw near the Burton corner flag all the back to Pereira, says it all  This play is, in fact, normally OK and no sane manager would question it. It’s cr@p, in the 90th minute with a 1 goal lead I could understand it more. If there's nothing on, its absolutely f...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burton Albion (h)

Reading aren’t necessarily failing to press - they are keeping a good shape off the ball and avoiding the hazard of chasing it and opening up gaps for the opposition to exploit.

yeah, lower energy than Hunt's press-press-press approach, at the expense of sometimes being flat footed and reactive.

Marriott again.

9 goals. Not bad for a player with a 'goalectomy'.

Re: You can’t say I didn’t warn you!

Between this and the extended Howe court case, I'm really not sure everything is running smoothly behind the scenes.

Best blame the manager.

Re: Leyton Orient (A) - Saturday 17th January

In, last season we got turned away from the Coach & Horses and sent to some hotel up the road, so will do pubs elsewhere this time. The Palm Tree, which is like something out of the Sweeney and then a 15ish minute uber to the ground. There were more on our pre-match crawl but we hit there for 1...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

The biggest problem with Doyle is his complete lack of pace and acceleration. He can turn someone, or beat his man but cannot get away afterwards. He has the ability to buy a yard, but can’t spend it. In other words, there is a reason why he is on loan in league one again.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

Need to keep it going with the POs somehow looking further away than ever despite the half decent form

Sigh.

They've always been a solid run of form away. This is effectively a new squad, doubly so now, and it takes time and patience.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

Weird game, suppose always hard to play properly when 3-0 up against 10

slow game down, keep possession, make the other team run.

4-1 is still a big win.

Marriott's record for us is ludicrous right?

bcubed Not sure what the red card was for. If it hit him it surely wasnt deliberate but

Oh well

If a goal is stopped by a hand on the line, does it matter whether it's deliberate or not?

Literally written into the rules that, yes, it does matter.
