Re: Richardson out

Corners are notoriously shit to score from... I recall some stats donkeys years ago, maybe Coppell/McDermott era... that teams scored on average about 4 goals a season direct from corners. Though that’s changing isn’t it - not filtered down through the divs yet but how many corners have Arsenal and...

Re: Richardson out

An odd comment, one seemingly playing the poster not the post. Especially odd as papes could think you under the table. Was meant to be tongue in cheek but came out wrong. He could probably think me under the table but probably not drink me under the table. fair enough I would like to call Gr...

Re: Rival Watch

Quite.

I'd suggest that Stockport are starting to slip into the scrap. Recent form dropped to W 1 D1 L3.

Re: Richardson out

Richardson made it clear football doesn’t happen quickly enough for certain people. He believes you’ve got to win matches early in your time at a club in order to get the time to implement any longer term changes you want to make.

:?

Some might describe that as 'people need to be patient'.

Re: Richardson out

Hunt shoulders a lot of the blame for the quality of signing. As incumbent manager when the takeover happened, he should have been giving a clear profile of the sort of player he needed, and his only criteria was "decent lads" . It's a big part of why the summer window went so badly. wher...

Re: Bolton fall out

It’s really hard to do much about fitness mid-season as you’re balancing that with players being fresh enough to play, the increased likelihood of in-game injuries, and the increased likelihood of fatigue injuries if you ramp fitness drills up. From March onwards, clubs are actively managing fitness...

Re: Bolton fall out

On fitness, perhaps a better word would be preparation and then it might follow that, having changed a manager, the new manager might have a different view of what players have the right preparation for the positions he wishes them to play in. Related to that is recalling Hunt's quotes about runnin...

Snowflake Royal Good job FDTW. Love me a Magic Number Thread.

How many times do you think we'll have to explain it this year?

IN! for performatively failing to understand the concept (and somehow thinking you won't look a prick doing so)

Re: Richardson out

As said before, he needs a year in the job before any real judgement can be made. He has been backed by the board, (which Noel wasn’t) and his dealings in January have been good. Given a Summer on the training ground and that window, I would expect that the start of next season should be more like ...

Re: Richardson out

I’m interested in what he does with the forward line in the summer should we stay down as I’d expect He inherited probably quite expensive players in Lane, Marriott, Ritchie, Kelvin, DK (prob less expensive) that I imagine he was fairly duty bound to play I do think if he gets the chance to bring i...

Re: Richardson out

We've lost just 4 of 21 league games since LR took over. Having list 4 of our opening 7 under Noel Hunt. Up to 7th - and this having conceded three injury time equalisers in the last month (yes, I know it went the other way this weekend). Yes, Noel Hunt can take some credit for righting the ship se...

Re: Play-off/relegation watch.

Anyway, stop laughing at the back.

Leam overall form in league - played 20 won 10 draw 6 lost 4 (1.8 ppg).

12 games left to go, so keeping the same form gives won 6 draw 4 lost 2, an additional 22 points, for a total of 73.

If we can improve just a small amount, who knows.

stealthpapes I remember when the Posters What Know Things were telling me the table don't lie and we were in the relegation spots.

You are all morons. Utter, utter morons.

Anyway.

Re: What do people expect from a football team and manager

It's like the club (in general) simply doesn't care about the community. Yes. How much of this was a priority when we were making half the backroom staff redundant, failing to pay tax and other bills, etc. This is the sort of ‘non-essential’ stuff that has been neglected and will take time to build...

Re: What do people expect from a football team and manager

Somewhat related to the attendances. 10 clubs with biggest increases in average attendance since 2015-16. I think its just a static comparison. In reverse order 10 Ipswich, +9,183 9 Fulham, +9,566 8 Birmingham, +9.780 7 Forest, +10,767 6 Everton, +13,894 5 Leeds, +14,268 4 Liverpool, +16,483 3 Coven...

Re: Play-off/relegation watch.

Losing play off final.

I wouldn’t immediately jump to “relegation nailed on”, reasonable chance Couhig flips his investment, for one.

My view is that you’ve got to go for it. The worst thing to happen this season would be any number of dead rubbers in the last month.
