Re: Reading vs Pompey(A) Match Thread (2/46)

Our OS says 4-4-2, no idea where to find anything on their OS however! Just noticed that. Hopefully that will mean they have a midfielder playing centre back (though I think Wilson played defence last season), a young winger playing full back and maybe a left footer at right back. On the other side...

Re: Reading vs Pompey(A) Match Thread (2/46)

rollsy for me hunt should start, even without match practice i think far and away our best striker

Doubt he's match fit and by that I mean he probably is only good for 20 minutes at 100%. Also we don't want to force him back too quickly.

Re: Reading vs Pompey(A) Match Thread (2/46)

Does anyone know what formation Pompey will play?

Wilson is named as a midfielder in some places and Ritchie was described as a left winger on Wikipedia.

I'm guessing Ciftci will be part of a forward three with Nugent and Utaka.

Re: Why I Hate Shane Long

This is why the 05/06 team will never be beaten for me.

The current team could achieve the same but it would not be the same with most of the team being younger than me.

Re: Reading vs Wycombe Wanderers

Starting line-up: Federici, Griffin, Williams, Mills (c), Pearce, Karacan, Howard, Sigurdsson, McAnuff, Kebe, Church.
Subs: Hamer, Taylor, Gunnarsson, Tabb, Antonio, Robson-Kanu, Hunt, Long

Would expect the same 11 with maybe one or two changes against Scunthorpe.

Re: Royals on Tour

What a waste of your life. Friendlies to Farnborough are too far to watch players make zero effort, let alone a 3rd world country  Third world  +1 Having been to Slovenia I can tell you that it is most definitely not third world. Also out of interest guess where Sir Steve is taking Bris...

Re: Football League Play Off's Thread..

What an achievement.

John Still came across a really top bloke as well. Really pleased for them.

How small did Bell-Baggie look? Decent cross at the end.

Sarah Star Oh dear! They've had their bit of luck and blown it with that miss

Just saw the replay and it bounced awfully as he shot.

Imagine if that happened in a game England had to win. There'd be a national outrage!

Re: Royals duo facing summer exit

Typical sensible approach by Brian Mac.

Sounds like he agrees with the majority on here that it would be better for all concerned if they left but knows we might not be able to shift them so is he still leaving them the chance to play themselves back in.

Re: Most loyal players

Was talking about this with my mate who's Coventry fan yesterday and I said how since we've been in the Premier League I've become a lot more cynical regarding players' loyalties. The only reason players like Murty, Parkinson and Marcus Hall stayed loyal was because the only offers they probably rec...

Re: Most loyal players

Gylfi won't and I can see Karacan playing in Turkey at some point (even if it only ends up being a season).

For me the two most likely candidates are Church and Pearce.

Re: Jamie Ashdown

Experience isn't just about spending time out on the pitch though. Just being in and around the first team and playing the odd game here and there still means that Ashdown is the more experienced keeper. He's been part of a squad that's played in high pressure games, been successful and also been u...

Re: HRK for Wales

You've applied the commonsense test to the wrong statement though !!!!!! I'd certainly argue that if you take a lad into your Academy at 15 and he becomes a regular first teamer and a full international it would be rather odd to not see him as a product of that Academy. Presumably if you think he i...

There's only one Lee Nogan,
Only one Lee Nogan,
Walking along,
Singing a song,
Scoring in a winter wonderland!

This should be brought out of retirement for a current striker.

Re: Jamie Ashdown

If they are good enough then I'd rather see one of Andersen, Hamer or McCarthy a go. After all if we were offered the chance to sign a player who was one of the best players in League 1 in his position and also happened to been called up to Denmark/England U21s then most would be happy for us to mak...
