Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Forest and Stoke have unveiled their Macron kits this week. Both a bit meh. Interested to see what sponsor we end up with for the anniversary kits - bound to be something horrendous. Let’s face it, whoever pays highest will obviously get the deal. Club won’t be choosy  Blue and white with gold...

Yeah I was thinking about railroading in a comment about the "zigzags crashing into the Cechs" but thought it labouring the point

Re: New Kits 2019/20

Chelsea's new home kit has an interesting pattern. https://www.footballshirtculture.com/images/2021/chelsea_2021_2022_home_kit.jpg It is made from 100% recycled material, which is good. It's fine with the zig zag pattern, I just don't like how it then railroads into the chequers/Cechers/Czechers on...

Re: SpuROFLs

Spurs fans understandably up in arms about being charged a flat £60 a ticket (plus booking fee) for a 6pm game v Villa next week Then they shouldn't go, make a stand. I understand the complaints about the cost of football but until supporters completely stay away the big clubs won't change. They ch...

Bert Trautmann, who played in the Fa Cup final with an actual broken neck. To this day (probably) the only Nazi to have won an FA cup medal. In goal. Footballers are soft these days. https://static.timesofisrael.com/www/uploads/2013/07/Britain-Soccer-Trautm_Horo-e1374246853865-1024x640.jpg The book...

Re: Champions League/Europa League 2020/21

Chelsea have only conceded 10 goals in 24 games since Tuchel took charge, and Mendy is a big part of that. A barely fathomable 18 clean sheets in those 24 games. 5 of those 10 goals conceded came at home to West Brom, who are the only team to score more than one against Chelsea in that time. :? :lo...

What happened to Schalke this season? Only 13 points? Have they had a massive points deduction?

Re: Ups & Downs 2020/21

If Derby go down and potentially win on the opening day of next season, do you think they will bring back the "you're only here for the Champions" chant that went so well for them the last time that happened...

Or have their fans matured a bit since then?

Re: European Super League

Orion1871 Some want a team from Turkey to be included, but the money comes from what is interesting, not from games that are of no interest to anyone.

This confirms what I put in my first post in this thread, they don't want teams in that might "sully" the brand they are trying to create.

So as I see it we'd be looking at something like this: Current 12: Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool Man Utd Man City Tottenham Atletico Real Barca Juve AC Inter Targeted 3 more: Bayern Dortmund PSG Qualifying 5: Ajax Porto Benfica 4th Spanish club (eg Sevilla) 4th Italian club (eg Roma) I get the impressio...

Re: European Super League

As the 6 Premier League Clubs involved are breaking rule 1.9 (about joining unsanctioned competitions) the punishment is obvious; expulsion from this season's competition and continued expulsion thereafter. On top of that, neither the FA nor the Football League will sanction this, so the logical co...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Speaking of xG, as I said, I like it but look at the xG table and it's all over the place, I think with xG you can only gauge whether a team creates/concedes high quality chances, which are both low for us but we have a quality keeper to save those high quality chances and clinical finishers to put...

A rare Chris Gunter goal in that 1-0 win at Col U in 2015. Good finish too, from an angle through the legs of the keeper iirc

Re: Champions League/Europa League 2019/20

The old system of Champions League / UEFA Cup / Cup Winners Cup was a far better European set up than the current model, especially with the Champions League-Europa League drop out system they currently operate.
