Re: Man Utd (A)

If you're in Deansgate, walk over to Castlefield (10 minutes) and get one of the barges. Pubs all around the area and you can booze all the way on board. Hassle free, queue-free return. Might cost you a few quid, but well worth it.

Re: Royal Elm Park

Royal Elm Park will be the beginning of the end of Reading FC. Will result in no car parking and very little room for buses on match day. What we will have, though, will be a non existent train station on a line that is a long way from the stadium. And empty flats owned by overseas landlords. Millwa...

Oh (re Sheff Weds).

Shame about the homeless person (previous post). Where was the famous Wolves subway army. And, bearing in mind she was an ex, that's a pretty generous put out.

Re Sheff Weds – December night match? Snow-dusted terraces. 1979, season after the Div 4 championship season.

Looks like QPR fans are doing their own boycott, looking at their attendances this season.

Re: Arsenal (A)

Not a bad line up away at Arsenal back in 2005 though:

Reading: Stack, Murty, Ingimarsson, Sonko, Shorey, Oster, Harper, Sidwell, Hunt, Kitson, Lita.

Subs: Hahnemann, Little, Convey, Doyle, Makin.

Re: The Mad Stad

Floyd, reckon those concourses gonna be a bit less congested next season. I think our ground is one of the better new ones. Looks good design-wise (it's not a totally bland continuous single tier bowl like St Marys or Leicester) and not at all cramped once you're sat down (or stood up, if that's you...

A 3-2 defeat. Crowd of 1,700. Pouring with rain. Empty terraces. Footage to be used on hard-hitting documentary about the demise of football.

Re: Dellor moaning about Vydra again!!!

Vydra was very decent last night. Great movement, decent control and even when he lost it, worked very hard to win it back, not giving defenders a moment's rest.

Re: Bottle, Heart, Commitment, Guts: "The Reading DNA"

Taking Palace game as an example, we lost because we weren't brave enough with the ball, not because we weren't flying into challenges. It's that slight lack of quality when we're going forward that's the biggest problem. Running around like a lunatic and shouting and beating your chest and kissing ...

Re: Too many games

Another issue is the amount of qualification matches for major tournaments, which means that the tradition of qualifiers taking place midweek, bookended by full Saturday programmes of domestic football, was lost to us. There are too many international matches. The likes of San Marino, Gibraltar, Li...

Re: Rumour - Jake Cooper

Thought Evans looked a bit like a centre back playing as an emergency cm last saturday. Big and strong, but not that creative. Sure got the build of a centre back. Early days of course, and he may be the next Sidwell. Think Cooper looks like a real prospect. But not more than that at the moment. Jud...

Re: RUMOUR - Paolo Hurtado

They sure do Forester, and I'm sure RFC probably do try and help players settle in. I know when Gylfi came over, he was billeted with a Reading-based family. For one reason or another, it's not worked out with Hurtado. Shame, as it looks like he has ability. But wingers are enigmatic things.
