Re: Rumour - Olise to Leeds

Pathetic that might consider only £3-4m for a promising young talent like that. If we were a Forest or a Derby they'd be offering £9-10m.

Re: Swift to... Southampton

£10m+ offers for QPR's mop-haired fella, and Forest's Cash, but at little old Reading we're getting offers of £4m for Swift. Too right we tell them to f**k off. He's worth £7m in today's market.

Re: Something sinister in the Championship

Westwood52 Rumours of Sheffield Weds malpractice have been surfacing since Xmas. For some reason the EFL will not be deducting the 12 points this season; but instead they will lose 12 points the season coming.

Who cares? This could be what keeps us up next season ...

Re: STH Options

Decided not to renew. I'll get a half season ticket instead.

There's talk that we might be able to go to games soon but with social distancing and fans being asked to not shout/sing. Might as well be listening on the radio!

Green Hoops > Stripes.

QPR are rightly having a field day.

Really? I've seen plenty preferring out home kit to theirs again. They've had side panels in recent years so that argument is null and void.

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Home shirt would be decent had the arms had a white hoop. The shirts just don't look right with a blue arm, especially when a player where's long sleeves. Back panel is shit but wont look half as bad with a name and number on it.

Away kit is nice. It'll be a grower.

Re: Swift to... Southampton

Let's look at it in annual cost. Our wage bill has been knocking around £30m and needs to be more like £15m - £18m. Let's call that a reduction of £10m That's basically £200k in wages a week. Without allowing for any new signings or contract improvements. If we release all the ooc players and sell ...

Re: Swift to... Southampton

£3.5m is a joke, but it underlines how desperate we are for money. Swift is replaceable. I'd rather lose him than Olise.

Re: Reading FC 2018/19 accounts

yeah saw that we aren't in a precarious position unless the owners stop funding us. Then we are. Sounds precarious to me. If the owner pulls out and someone very generous doesn't come in, then we are screwed. We don't have any assets. We don't own anything other than playing staff on vastly over-in...

Re: Reading FC 2018/19 accounts

Via Kieran Maguire on Twitter RFC have issued 23.2 million shares at 52.35 pence each. If issued for cash then investors have put in £12.2 million into the Club. Don't expect big spending. This will be just to keep us alive. We are in a very precarious position. (at least Wigan have assets like thei...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Macclesfield Town have been charged by the EFL on three counts:

- Late payment of March wages
- Failing to act with utmost good faith in respect of EFL matters
- Breaching order, requirement, direction or instruction of the League

Independent panel to take next steps.

Re: Rumour - Olise to Celtic

Hadn’t realised Hammond had gone to Celtic. A bit surprised by the overconfidence on here and downplaying of Celtic lure. If Celtic want him then he’ll go and will only be a few million. As Howe has suggested we need to be cashing in on some assets. Sadly agree. £3-4m plus a sizable sell-on would l...

Re: Biggest Reading FC injustices

What about the abandonedFA Cup gameagainst Bury where we were 2-0 down and on our way out . IIRC. Didn’t they present us with some forks afterwards as we had been unable to locate any to help drain the pitch... It rained like never before that night. Queuing to get into the South Bank and everyone ...

Pepe the Horseman If we withdraw the contract offer, does that mean we won't get any compensation?

If he's under whatever the age is, then we get compo no matter what contract negotiations did or did not take place.

NewCorkSeth Ugh. The Loader situation really does wind me up now. Why didn't we sell him when we had the chance? I'm so confused by the whole thing.

Perhaps Wolves didn't want to pay out knowing he'd walk on a free a few months later, or perhaps we were asking for too much.

Re: Biggest Reading FC injustices

Boro at Elm Park 1997 (?) League Cup 1/4 final. Ref got bullied after we'd been given a free-kick, we all ran down for it, then he changed his mind and Boro may as well have walked the ball into the net. Still grinds with me. 1995 P/O final as well, as mentioned. McAteer is a c**t and FDF handballed...

Re: Interesting news article coming out of Yorkshire....

Doesn't affect us. The EFL cleared us of any wrong doing when selling the Madstad to the owners. Derby however vastly vastly over-priced their pudding bowl and deserve everything coming to them.

Re: The most charismatic/moronic fan we have or have ever had

Old Man Andrews We currently have some of the worst fans in English football, some of them are a complete disgrace at away games. Loud, rude and deeply, deeply unfunny.
