Re: Loans,loans and more loans

I don't think that's incompatible with what I wrote. Having a list of targets is a country mile form having a seven-figure transfer deal lined up. You couldn't arrange the latter without good evidence you could follow through. Isnt that exactly what we did with the likes of campbell-ryce or by the ...

Re: "One More Player"

When was the last time RFC made a big signing that everyone (or most everyone) thought was a great signing? That's an honest question b/c I cannot recollect one in the past 5 years. But I would have to admit that these loans and "signings" sound more like the dealings of a league 1 (or ML...

Re: Zurab

I'd be surprised if there was anyone at the training ground today, given that half the team have been called up for internationals. Think Mcdermott said after the Leicester game they would be in for training today They dont just stop everything because a few of the lads are off on internatio...

Re: Zurab told to find new club

Squad of 35 players with salaries ranging from £5k a week to £20k a week, plus the compensation to Watford for Rodgers and then his severance....that £11m soon disappears...before you add in things like the running costs on matchdays and all the other behind the scenes staff, minus the loss of spon...

Re: We love you Feds!

He does do it quite often though, thats the problem He didnt seem so apolgetic and humble on the radio after either. Saying how it wasnt so much his fault as just an accident and he thought it was a good ball right onto Kebes feet. Last time he cocked up he blamed everyone infront of for the 3 soft ...

Re: Mcd says we haven't got any cash....

That last para still comes down to mismanagement from the so called well run club though doesnt it We got relegated when we shouldnt have done, and as flloyd said since then we have ended up having to lose all the gems of that squad, either because of the money situation or because we were no longer...

Re: We love you Feds!

Wouldnt go as far as saying they were camera saves, they were decent enough but that is what a keeper is there for, to pull off saves He tried to kick the ball through a crowd of players on the edge of his box when he had time and space to throw or kick it a bit quicker Whats the point in pulling of...

Re: Mcd says we haven't got any cash....

Sad, but pretty much true. But I think the best chance will be had by those clubs with a prospering academy. It certainly makes economic sense to do it that way. Whether a club of our size can ever produce enough quality talent to have a largely home-grown Premier League squad is very debatable but...

Re: Back from the game - S****horpe.

We should really be playing 4-4-2 at home. If we had Long/Church or Long/Rasiak up front I'm sure we can attack better. Maybe use 4-5-1 against strong opposition, but against Scunthorpe, I'd like to see us control the game. Hows that midfield gunna work though Well, I'd play Sig as an attacking pla...

Re: Academy goes from strength to strength

Looks like ex-academy player Ryan Crockford might be getting a chance with Oxford

Its raised a few eyebrows up that way with his history, but he could be another league player to come out of the club

If they live up to the hype then we could be looking back in 5 or 10 years time saying its Jordan Obita or Connor Wickham

Re: Jamie Ashdown

Hamer has played more games than Ashdown. Ashdown's appearances are rather pathetic - he's been a pro for over a decade and han't made close to 100 appearances yet. he's got a lot of experience of sitting around and not playing competitive games. Now you could argue he's in a similar position to Ma...

Re: Mr Mad's financial travails

From what i remember people posting on here he hasnt really taken much of his loans back and so yes pretty sure he is still owed 20 odd million. Wast that the accusation thrown at him on here, that he was walking off with all the premiership money when in fact he hadnt touched it It might be unlikel...

Re: Mr Mad's financial travails

And what about the 20 odd million we still owe SJM???? :? If he was to get into serious trouble then he might need to claw a chunk of that back to support his other interests I dont think it would happen, but to say the club isnt affected by his other businesses hitting tough times is a probably a b...

Forgive me for knowing so little, but how good is this guy people keep referencing? I saw that he was on the bench on Sunday. I remember hype about the likes of James Henry and Simon Cox a few years ago. How good is Jake Taylor meant to be? The future? Surely Bignall should be on his way out if Tay...

Re: Gylf pledges his future to Reading

We were assured last summer that we would not have to sell this summer. Always defended JM on here. Sell our best players this summer though and you have to wonder where this club is going... If we lose Sig it wont be because of us having to sell, it will because he is tempted by a move to a Prem c...

Re: Who should we sign?.

Steve Finnan would do me nicely, but he might be a bit on the expensive side despite saying he would be happy to play for Pompey in the Championship next season Of course he is happy to, nobody else is going to match those stupid wages he is on. And football debts have to be paid in full. As he wil...
