Re: BFTG Bees

The midfield was a shambles, Edwards looked badly off the pace especially in the first half. Bacuna (and Evans) badly missed. Aluko was playing very deep first half, got through a fair bit of work with some lovely touches but not close enough to the goal to do any damage. Second half he faded alarmi...

Re: BFTG - QPR (A)

From goal kicks they man-marked all 4 of our defenders and no-one had a clue what to do. Only 6 subs is crazy for the first day of the season. Where was Obita? - hopefully "just" an injury and not unsettled by a bid. We move on.

Re: BFTG-Bristol city.

We do ourselves no favours by losing the nerve to play the possession game when put under a bit of pressure. The defence doesn't want to drop deep to receive from Al-Habsi, so he has to kick long and we give away possession, usually resulting in another attack. I hope Stam sticks with 3 at the back;...

Re: BFTG - QPR (a)

Worth noting that QPR pressed very high up the pitch for the full 90 minutes. Other teams have tried this season but then faded. QPR's discipline meant we had to be much more direct and there was very little passing it around the back. Al-Habsi probably kicked long more times in this match than all ...

Re: Record Watch 16/17

I am quite worried that Man City will beat the 13 wins

6 out of 6 so far, seem unstoppable and their upcoming fixtures don't look too troublesome, especially if they can get past Spurs:

Spurs a
Everton h
Soton h
West Brom a
Boro h
Palace a
Burnley a

to equal 13

then Chelsea h for 14.

Re: Post Mortem

The entire season turned in that 10 minutes at Fulham where Tshibola got injured and we let in 3 goals. Crazy really but that is the truth. It was to Clark's detriment that he couldn't change course after that setback.

Re: FA Cup memories.

There was a Wealdstone game in around 88 when we won 2-0 and Vinny Jones got sent off for Wealdstone. The Welling Utd 4 game marathon - I can clearly remember in the 1st or 2nd replay, Mark Whitlock rising like a salmon to meet a cross in front of the Tilehurst End with a huge grin on his face as he...

Re: Steve Francis-where is he now?

size 12 Simod Cup winner 1988

I remember going to Huddersfield first game of a season (possibly 1994/1995?) and winning 3-0. Francis was definitely in goal for them that day

Beautiful summer's day and we were very good. We played so well I put £10 on us winning the title ;)

Re: On the train BFTG

One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again but expecting different results. Steve Clarke should be expecting the men in white coats as playing with that formation and personnel has been shown time and again to not work especially away from home. I thought that playing an attacking...
