CountryRoyal I'd honestly rather get Akpan back and play him up front.

Re: Have you ever been injured spectating at a match?

Although not strictly speaking as a spectator, I did turn my ankle on the pitch at the Mad Stad following the Brentford match. I was demonstrating Cureton´s technique to some youngsters and the balance/half volley/tight angle combination didn´t quite come off.
Drink, suffice to say, had been take.

Re: Southampton Sack Adkins, new manager Mauricio Pochettino

But it's also true that he was sacked this season after 13 games having only managed to get 9 pts .... Yep, quite true. He either overachieved last season or was missing something this. We´ll never know which. But my point was that he wasn´t (and isn´t) unpopular, and that Espanyol are never going ...

Re: Southampton Sack Adkins, new manager Mauricio Pochettino

He wasn't highly thought of in Barcelona. Espanyol have never managed to catch up with Barca in any way. They used to play in the Olympic Stadium but because the crowds were so small they moved to a Reading-sized stadium built near the airport. In the recent derby Barca beat them easily. All true o...

Re: RUMOUR - Iago Aspas

For some reason I only just noticed this. I saw this kid play a few months ago and thought he was fantastic. My team - Rayo Vallecano, since you ask - won that day but as a lone striker he ran the socks off of our defence, was controlled with his aggression, has an eye for goal and bagged two in twe...

Re: Back from the game - Swansea

Thought we looked okay in the second half after allowing a better managed, higher spending team with one fantastic player, four or five very good players and three or four not so bad players completely bossed the first half. The Disallowed goal was fair enough, as was the yellow. We still give the b...

Re: How Long Will BM Last at this rate?????

Strachan? di Matteo? WTF is everyone going on about Di-Matteo? The bloke has achieved F'All. He took over AVB's team, and told them to "do what they want" - he destroyed WBA. The fact that he was named "Coach of the year" yesterday - is an absolute joke! Gordon Strachan. You do ...

Re: HOW MANY PLAY OFF FINALS YOU BEEN

I saw the 1991 play-off final against FC Albanie at the Stade Melodramatique in Cannes. They were selling Simmonds bitter in champagne flutes at the Boules Bar. Reading lost 4-1 and I picked up eighty grand in Swiss francs from the fixed-odds donkey sellers round the back by the Citroen dealers. An...

Re: Extra Significance for me

My uncle - a Royal since the 30's - passed away at around the time Shane Long put the consolation cracker in at QPR in November. From being hunched over the same crush barrier on the South Bank week-in, week-out whilst bedecked in a brown car coat and frantically chewing 'givin up the fags' gum duri...

Re: ITV are a disgrace

Negative Jeff

I live in Madrid. You'll never know the joy of watching the R's live on TV where the commentators can't pronounce the name of the teams, let alone the players.
It's one of the few things I'm eternally grateful to Mssrs. Berlusconi and Murdoch for.
