Re: 150 years in pictures

Does anyone remember the 1985 white T-shirt’s the club sold to celebrate our record breaking start that season? The T-shirt showed the full League table after 12 games with the words “Reading first the rest nowhere” printed above the table. I wore it once in a pub in Cheltenham and received some cu...

Re: Favourite ever players as a team.

I would be building my team around : Shaka Hislop Darius Wdowcyzk Ibrahima Sonko Stuart Beavon Richie Bowman Jimmy Kebe Glenn Little Trevor Senior Dean Horrix Dave Kitson It appears I've never appreciated the defenders quite as much  (I think I might be struggling to defend) Not convinced abou...

Re: The womens world cup

Just had to comment on the England victory against Latvia last night, in their World Cup Qualifier. 20-0 64 shots to 0 31 shots on target 86% possession. To be honest, that is an embarassment for the Women's game (Norway were winning 13-0 away in Armenia before the weather caused an abandonment as ...

genome Rafa Benitez must be under pressure soon?

Missing Calvert Lewin and Richarlison. Stuck with Rondon who isn’t good enough

Hard run of fixtures coming up, think you could be right

Would be fun with Newcastle and Everton in the Champ

Re: Points Deduction Incoming!

I think ultimately the EFL will have the final say on all these questions. Anything that looks like we’re bending the rules could result in a further six point penalty, so expect the club to be whiter than white in their day to day activities and dealings Dann, or Carroll, onto the coaching staff w...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Just to add to the farcical nature of it, the top 3 in the league are separated by only 2 points but Benfica have had a nice little jump on their GD, could be crucial come the end of the season. It's more than a little surprising given the precautions Portugal are taking against COVID generally. Sh...

AthleticoSpizz Well.....that’s how it works isn’t it?

(apart from the Man Cities etc of course)

Sadly, they’d have to be in the Chump for 3 years to ‘qualify’ and I don’t think any of us think that

Re: Weekend Football

AthleticoSpizz Yeah, lol at Newcastles relegation, but just look at next seasons top place already being bought....one less promotion place for us......etc and lol etc

Despite the cash, can’t see many really top players joining them in the Chump. Be funny if they fell foul of FFP in the EFL despite the wealth

Re: Weekend Football

My God there’s been some turgid football on to today.

Arsenal v Newcastle
England v Austria women (had that on my iPad)
And now Brighton v Leeds (first half at least)

What have I done to deserve this ?

Re: Do you sometimes think you`ve had enough.

I think most of them care. I just don’t think they have any direction on how to score. It's just pass it to death and rely on a flair player creating something from nothing. I've banged on about this before, but successful teams have a consistent pattern of play to an end purpose. Pardew Fozzie on ...

Sutekh So, what happens next then, embarrassing performance and result v Hull followed by another miracle at WBA? You just know that’s the most likely way Reading will work.

If you could guarantee that, I’d probably take it

Franchise FC Just to keep a lid on the knee-jerks, we’re still 20th, so need to build on today.

Couldn’t have asked for anything better, though.

Unfortunately we are 21st....but yes, you are absolutely correct on the other points.

By the way, the commentary that said he ran out of pace, but said nothing about the sublime touches to control the ball and cut inside. Actually, didn’t think he looked short of pace at all
