Re: RUMOUR - Billy Sharp

http://www.football365.com/f365-features/8914671/Parachute-Payments-Killing-Competition...

This adds further intrigue - with a season in the PL, very little spent in transfer fees, record season tickets, swollen parachute payments, yet we are baulking at a smal load fee???

Re: RUMOUR - Billy Sharp

The Post now running the story too.

Apparently, paying a large portion of his 18k wages could be an issue? I think say 10k for 12 weeks is worth the risk on this one - get him in!

Re: RFC spin-watch

Yep, comments on Facebook absolutely hammering RFC too. I don't mind the club putting interesting stuff on FB, but the general approach seems to be that they must post 3/4 times a day, with anything, anything at all. Any news is spun so much it makes me cringe - even the match commentary is positive...

Even Reading FC social media dept can't spin this positively - after all the noise and direct quotes from Nigel himself, nothing!

Re: How long would it take you to walk to a home match?

At the end of last season, it was 25 mins.

Now, 27 hours! (Swanage, FWIW)

Re: FAO Brian

If we somehow avoid relegation it will be because the 3 teams below fcuked up in a far greater way than we have this season. everything about us smacks of relegation fodder this year - Unstable defence, player/manager fallouts, poor football, signings that have backfired, the list goes on... If we d...

just because he has a 8.3million clause doesn't mean Celta wouldn't accept a lower offer

This is the standard of player that we should be looking at - yes WCBAP, depending on whether we are aiming to survive this year, or building for the Championship next season

Speculation - Chris Samba

Another Russian connection - subject to some pretty horrendous racist abuse at present - could we give him a way out?

Did a solid job for Blackburn before it went sour

Re: How Long Will BM Last at this rate?????

My two-penneth... For me, Brian has been found out - we are too predictible, as Gary Neville pointed out yesterday. Brian has to take the blame for the awful, dire tactics - that we tried to play our usual game against Arsenal was at best naive, at worst, clueless. He changed it for the better at 4-...

Re: Mcanuff - Undroppable ??

Easily our weakest link today. Tracking back was awful. No desire. No fire in the belly. Is he undroppable? Was our weakest player today and wasnt subbed? As a captain, losing 1-0 your meant to inspire your team. You dont inspire a team with lack of effort. He doesnt work hard enough for a captain ...

Re: Fans Forum on Thursday

Well, it would be easy for them to ask those who want the matter taken up to PM them with their real names, so that STAR can give credence to any argument or whatever they put forward to the club. But they haven't done that, and it looks like they won't be doing that in future. I'm not talking spec...

Re: 'Pre-Match Entertainment?'

The thing is, aside from Mr Woo, the best half-time "entertainment" was the penalty shoot outs at Elm Park - where they had the use of the big goals - far more entertaining than the current form and because they played right across the pitch, the fans used to cheer them on, complete with p...

Hardly.

BBC contact RFC supporters trust to fill some seats with reading fans.
Supporters trust sends email to its members
Members of trust fill seats

Sounds like Star acted quickly and effectively to fill seats at short notice.

Re: Who is the best Premier League Expert? 2012/13

The rules are: - Pick 3 Buy Bets and 3 Sell Bets (all bets will have equal stake of assumed £1 a point) - Place your imaginary bets by 6pm Friday 17th Aug - The person with the greatest profit wins (a league table will be produced throughout the season, hopefully courtesy of Ian Royal) - Examples: ...

Re: Rumour - Nobody Else

Still over 4 weeks until the window closes - and we haven't really splashed the cash as of yet - I expect one, maybe 2 if we have a shaky start to the season. Why do people keep saying this? We have spent about 5 million in transfer fees, maybe 4 million in signing on fees, have given significantly...

Re: Kit - Hoops All The Way Round?

What would be a refreshing thing to see then, if the hoops has no effect on sales either way, maybe the club could acknowledge that Reading FC have historically worn blue and white hoops, and that a portion of fans are vocal in seeing this on our annual kit refresh, that they will make every effort...
