Re: MATCHWATCH : Coventry City (a) sponsored by Jimmy Hill

skipper Have faith, we have goals in us.

No, we have ALOLko, LOLise, JoLMAO and ALFAO SemedLOL. Couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo between them. We should have just forfeited once Meite and Ejaria got injured - this will be 4-0 or worse. The decision to sell Hyam looks like a very bad one now!

Re: MATCHWATCH : Coventry City (a) sponsored by Jimmy Hill

Another loss, just like I predicted. Relegation beckons. League One is more our level anyway. We might get to use some of our young players and bounce back a better side.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Coventry City (a) sponsored by Jimmy Hill

Four defenders on the bench  would have thought Sackey made more sense than Bristow.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I know he has his detractors, but adding Swift back into this squad (even just as an option off the bench) would give us another dimension, particularly if teams start shutting up shop against us. But for the first time since we signed him, we’re not reliant on Swift for our creativity.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I think it’s fair to say that in the long run a team is unlikely to significantly outperform its xG. It can happen in cup competitions because you have to win relatively few games. Over the course of a league season you have to either have a great goalkeeper, very clinical forwards (which is much ra...

Re: What has changed so much from last season?

Two defensive midfielders at the same time means we’re well protected in the centre.

The opposition have to attack down the flanks, which suits Moore and particularly Morrison much more than being attacked directly.

Joao is that bit stronger and quicker than Puscas.

Re: BTFT - Blackburn

Call me crazy, nuts and a right oxf*rd but I’d actually consider starting Melvin-Lambert / Nevers and Tetek on Friday. I know we can’t take the ‘foot off the gas’ but with two tough, but winnable home games next week before the international break, let’s see how they do. Nov / Dec looks a right sh*...

CountryRoyal Can't see past a Coventry win here.

Yeah, not much chance of us scoring when they have Hyam, and it looks like our defence has finally started to leak.

We’re going down, Trump will win Pennsylvania, there will be 500,000 COVID deaths between now and March in England alone, Christmas will be cancelled, we will miss an interest payment on the national debt, and an asteroid will wipe out all life on Earth.

Still think we’ll lose this.

I am unreasonably certain we’ll win but want the cold comfort of saying “I told you so” if the worst should happen.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (a) sponsored by Paul McShane

The 106 squad had a knack of all the outfielders scoring. We've had 3 different scorers tonight, including Laurent's first (?) This is really promising. Esteves will get a worldly at some point too I reckon. How quickly we forget poor Chris Makin, our only outfield starter all season who didn’t sco...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (a) sponsored by Paul McShane

Oof.

Harsh on Aluko to be behind Semedo in the pecking order after their respective last performances.

Ejaria is a big miss, but Olise, Meite and Joao is a great front three.

Re: Would you take 4th place now?

Yeah, I’d be happy with a play off place. I don’t want to get greedy. I do enjoy being in the Premier League, even when we lose, but equally I would be happy sitting in the top half of the Championship for all eternity. But a season playing against the best players in the world sticks with you much ...

Pepe the Horseman Guess we've found another Esteves fan

Why do you hate white players?

I got my reasons.

I remember seeing you ask for a video of Esteves’s shot. It is in the highlights on the club’s YouTube channel. (Olise’s free kick is not)

Re: BTFG Rrro-therrr-hhaaam

RE estevez, Thought he looked a bit suspect in his defensive duties. But it’s his first start in a different country and he’s 18. He’s only going to get better as he gets used to his new team mates. 2 tackles, 1 interceptions, 1 clearence and wasnt dribbled past all game. Not to mention in his 33 m...
