Re: Countdown to Rodgers' return

The clock is ticking.

Or is it just a big watch? Either way, it looks nice with the tank top and bumper book of tactics 8)

Re: Wales squad

Perhaps it would have better if I had started it in the wrong section and then got a moderator to move it?

'Twas meant to be a topic for discussion.

HRK has probably done more to earn a call up than Church in my eyes.

Has HRK done enough to earn a place in the squad?

Re: Preston Predictions

They'll be drunk on the success of beating Leeds 6-4 on Tuesday.

I expect complacency and an away win.

Re: Back From The Game - Ipswich Town

I'm not saying the stats don't have their place, because they do, but it is possible to over-analyse. Snowball is basing his projections on a very small sample size so far which doesn't really tell us much, apart from one possible outcome out of about 8 million. Some of his numbers do make interesti...

Re: Harte is Rubbish, not good enough for the Championship

Well, if a guy gets 18 goals in 60 appearances at a lower level we have a reasonable bet that he can get, say, half that amount one level higher = 9 in 60 But if he plays half the total number of games, then 9/10 is a very tall order indeed! I reckon my pint of beer is safe mate ;) That's what I wa...

And Snowball, you should really spend less of your life collecting stats to try to prove people wrong.

Re: Back From The Game - Ipswich Town

Because by your example 10-20% of the time they won't win. Then things don't work out as they should. In reality it's probably more like 5%, but that's still one match in 20 that flouts the rules and goes the opposite to what was predicted. Which means facaldaqui's spread bet goes out the window ;) ...

Re: Back From The Game - Ipswich Town

And that's why running a bookies is a license to print money. Things just don't work out as they should. There's always going to be an upset, and form tables can't predict that. In fact, no stats can. The only ones that matter are the points total in the league, and the goal difference if it comes d...

Re: Back From The Game - Ipswich Town

So in a given season, Man U or Chelsea at home to some bottom six side how often do they LOSE such a game. Very rarely. Sides promoted from the Championship are capable of beating the big sides at home in the Premiership, as we have proven ourselves. We were still a 'bottom six' side though as that...

Re: Harte is Rubbish, not good enough for the Championship

He will if he's a virtual ever-present Mac is getting a selection problem now. And therin lies my confidence that Harte will not score more than 10 goals this year unfortunately. Stretch is a better (more complete) full back, and Mills/Zurab better at centre half. On rotation of course Harte will s...

Re: Back From The Game - Ipswich Town

Do you SERIOUSLY believe that a side that has just won six on the trot, conceding no goals versus a side that's just LOST six on the trot, scoring no goals... but next game they are EQUALLY likely to win/draw/lose? Results like that happen all the time in football! If they didn't we would all have ...

Re: Your Fav 3 Reading goals EVER

jollyjiminy Lita appears quite a lot in this list. A very fast, dangerous, inventive player, scoring some amazing goals. Still not quite sure what went wrong.

Er, his attitude?
