Re: The Bundesliga Hobnob battle thread 19/20

Winston Biscuit Congrats Bayern.

Well the excitement of the German season lasted a long time then

Thinking about putting my old avatar back, tbh.

Even though Wolfsburg are currently 1-0 up against Bayer 04. 8)

Re: Finance

Put on the Club Website, just now. The first team players have agreed to defer a "substantial" part of their wages for three months. See the club website for more info, as I don't know how to link the article with this forum. https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2020/may/first-team-players-re...

From Despair To Where? ...and Sheffield Wed didn't transfer ownership of the stadium and declare the income in the same year so a blatant fiddle of FFP.

Agreed, if any team is going to have the book thrown at them, it will be Sheff Wed.

Re: New Kits 2019/20

The new Nike 3rd kits that are being released are absolutely stunning. I also love the use of the old Nike logo. The Inter or Roma one are my personal favourites. https://render.nikeid.com/ir/render/nikeidrender/INTER_MENS_3S_1909_v1?obj=/s/g1&show&obj=/s&req=object&fmt=png-alpha&am...

genome FC Cincinnati announce Jaap Stam... with a picture of someone who isn't Jaap Stam

The replies from people saying congratulations Jaap with pictures of other famous bald men are quite amusing.

Re: 10 most iconic non-football Madstad moments

It was appalling. Worst ‘play it by numbers’ cabaret act. Of course it’s the sort of schmaltz some people lap up but he could have sent a look a like to mime to a cd and no one have noticed the difference. The only animated thing on stage was his wig. He looked so disinterested he would have fitted...

Re: 2019/20 Season - How will it end?

Cancel the cups for a year. Or alternatively, managers can just get on with it and stop complaining. If they don't like the structure of the English league, they know what to do, no-one forces them to manage here! Wouldn't necessarily be against cancelling the league cup but not all of them, they'r...

Re: Players who virtually won us games/promotion/avoided relegation on their own

Nick Blackman was only here for a few months of the 2015/2016 season but still finished our top scorer, and if you take his goals & assists away we finished 21st and only narrowly avoided relegation. Our squad performed so poorly that season that, if the club had allowed votes for him, I'm sure...

Re: The Bundesliga Hobnob battle thread 19/20

Listened to a podcast last year on this as he did it in a Salzburg game and the UK press heard and reported how rude and arrogant he is. It was apparently a bit of an in joke there, he is not overly keen on the press so the challenge he was given was to try and get through interviews by using only ...

Re: The Bundesliga Hobnob battle thread 19/20

I really enjoy Erling Haaland's monosyllabic interviews. Interviewer: <long spiel about first game back, got a goal, relief etc etc> ... despite no crowd you went to the corner to celebrate. Haaland: 'why not?' Interviewer: 'did your celebration mean something in particular?' Haaland: 'Yes.' Listen...

Re: 2019/20 Season - How will it end?

Scottish Premier League season ended, with Celtic crowned champions and Hearts relegated. Hearts are now considering taking legal action against the SPFL Broadly, for England too, I really don't understand why the promotion only model hasn't taken off. Is it really that difficult to make room for (...

Re: Players who virtually won us games/promotion/avoided relegation on their own

I agree with RJ Wasn’t anything to do with the fact we got 0 points out of 12 from the two teams directly directly above us (Bolton and Fulham) And conceding in at least two of those games very late on. It's almost as if the goal difference wasn't the problem in the end Lost 3-1 at Fulham and also ...
