Re: Is that....

Does anyone know our record win in any match, including friendlies? I saw a 10-1 in Holland, and I know we did better in Sweden a few years ago. Going to the club as a whole, our youth team won an FA Youth Cup tie away to Weymouth 15-0 about 20 years ago. Not recording the 11-0 win as our record win...

Re: Brian: The right decision?

McDermott looked like a man who expects the sack in his post-match interview. Is that a good thing? Never a good thing to see a manager you like looking like he's a dead man walking. Although the sooner he's out of Leeds and at a more likeable club the better. Yes, but hates McDermott because he re...

Re: Madejski comments on club ownership

The first thing an American owner will probably do is rename our franchise as the "Thames Valley Royals" and move us to Slough because it's nearer Heathrow More than happy to be corrected, but from the evidence of other American owners of English football clubs, the first thing they would...

Re: Safe-Standing petition

An obvious place to install it would be at the back of the South stand for the away fans, given they often stand anyway. I wonder if clubs would be brave enough to put in standing in away sections. I'd rather campaign to have the roof removed over the away end, so they get soaked when it rains like...

Lacoste Looks like he may be losing the dressing room at the moment.

Sorry, but any fan who uses this phrase without any actual evidence needs to be taken outside and bashed across the face with the still bleeding bodies of roadkilled foxes until they are rendered insensible.

No they are not the worst which is why we are nowhere near the bottom of the table! But they are nowhere near the best and the reason for that? - yes, the management but the clue to where the management problem really lies is in your Username. Stand up and take a bow John Madejski, business genius!...

Re: Cold, wet and miserable: Blue Sky Thinking

The H&S regulations are contradictory and lack common sense. In what world is it healthy or safe for little ones to sit getting soaked and frozen by a biting wind, when there are better alternatives further up the stand? are you really suggesting kids are being prevented from moving to empty se...

Re: Financial Problems or not???

How does an owner not having enough money to complete a takeover equate to a financial crisis for the club? It's as if people think the payment he was due to make would have gone to the club as income, and suddenly the club has been plunged into a £40 million debt. Also, an owner not having the fund...

Re: Sell Alex McCarthy in Jan

RoyalBlue I fear we will sell McCarthy in January but the overwhelming majority of the 'undisclosed fee' will be used to fill in some of Madejski's black holes.
.

are you still insisting Madejski has been stealing money from the club?

Re: Safe-Standing petition

I don't understand the push towards rails seats, as opposed to real terracing. They only exist to allow terraces to be converted to seats for european games, which is not exactly an issue for us. You might as well just push for barriers to be added to the back of the current seats, and people being ...

Re: BFTG Wigan

Passing it out from the back is not the way to play in the Championship Nigel, its OK in the Premier as teams are not pressed back. If you persist with this style of football we will continue to put ourselves under needless pressure from the off and end up giving away even more sloppy defensive goa...

Re: Madejski comments

If he hadn't sold his 51%, would the club actually be any worse off? I can only really say yes in one respect, in that he no longer has any say in selling on the 51% if someone else wants to buy. Other than that, has Anton's takeover been bad for the club, really? He's not taken money out of the clu...

Re: Madejski comments

Just heard the Madejski interview. Tragic. The stuttering witterings of a man who has been on the Port. Completely put on the back-foot by Tim Dellor, a man who makes Colin Murray look like Roger Cook. Given that he doesn't give that many post-match interviews, and he didn't really seem to be tryin...

Re: BFTG Wigan

Totally unsurprisingly that was totally awful. I think I've enjoyed about 2 and a half games since Adkins took over. Weirdly I found that one of the more better games - although that's not saying much. The quality was dreadful, but particularly in the second half, you couldn't say it was dull (well...

:| I'm not booing to motivate the players. I'm booing because I'm angry at having to watch that shit, week in week out. The players can either strive to play better, or they can go and cry in the corner. It's up to them. If they continue to play like shit, I will continue to boo. Football changed t...

Re: mad stad to soon?

In fairness, I don't think we went for the location because the club thought the fans would love nothing better than to trek to the arse end of an industrial estate once every two weeks. I was probably the only viable site on offer.

Re: London Irish Takeover

Maybe if they cut the prices from a ridiculous £28 for a Standard Ticket (£32 on Matchday) they would get more takers  Bloody hell - £28?!!! When I've briefly considered going I always thought it would be a good idea as it would be about £10 a ticket or something. That's a lot more than I th...

Re: London Irish Takeover

Can't wait, I hate the fact Irish don't come from around here (different county never mind town!) and have prevented the growth of an actual Reading rugby team. I'm not sure they have. In fact they've probably encouraged far more people to get interested in rugby than before. Unfortunately Reading ...

Re: Elm Park Years

Darren Wood was a whole-hearted if limited central defender who had come through a serious knee injury (iirc) and came to us from Chesterfield??; . His last game for chestefield was against us, when we sent them down on the last day. They were 2-0 up at half time, and we won 4-2 (and we'd have been...
