Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Yes. There is still ICU availability within the NHS at the moment which is a big positive. We are in surge and Italy appear to have peaked. Our hospitals don’t appear to be struggling to the same degree as Italy were a couple of weeks ago. A couple of grim weeks coming up but hopefully we will then...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Presumably we have been successful in flattening the curve - either that or our NHS is much better than we thought. We've been told the whole time we're 2 weeks behind Italy. Its been over 2 weeks since Italy first started having to triage patients and there were the horror stories coming out. This...

Re: Enjoying or hating the no football era?

It seems that it's the meeting up with friend and relatives that's the big problem. Reading about Singapore's approach, they really didn't care about people you'd passed in the street etc. It was just about people you'd spent time with. In pubs/restaurants, it seems you aren't hugely likely so infec...

Re: Enjoying or hating the no football era?

It will be a hell of a party when we get going again for sure, but thats still some way off. If it lasts a year or more, how many businesses in the entertainment/leisure industry will still exist after a year of no income? In two months time people will have had enough, and the only things that wil...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Just spotted that Singapore, after apparently being very successful in containing the virus, are now starting to ‘lockdown’ after a second surge Again, just shows by flattening that first curve, it’s not really solving anything long term what's being seen a lot in Asia is people returning from Euro...

As for no football, at the moment it's like the summer, only without a 30 page thread about what the new kit will be like.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

I gladly would if I was not a key worker already. I am aged well over 60 and have recovered from life threatening cancers twice 3 and 17 years ago (and so am probably in a high risk group) but am working normally and so I am practising what I preach, as I am more at risk than those sitting at home....

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

karbota So do you still want open Borders?, the free movement of people?, mass immigration? over population?. Me thinks the times (and mood) are a changing.

What changes to our border policy would you like to see brought in that would have prevented this?

Re: Enjoying or hating the no football era?

We played games on consecutive days as recently as 1986, playing Boxing Day and the day after. I think we drew both, 2-2 v Birmingham at Elm Park on Boxing Day, and 1-1 at Brighton the day after.

This is just a bizarre logic. What are we even talking about now? we are talking about you consistently spouting un- researched nonsense. educate yourself. the only reason most of you are even taking a stance is because you are shit scared of it hitting you directly. once it disappears the other de...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

But these are future debates. The idea that we should sacrifice half a million people to protect the economy is immoral and vile; I'm pretty sure we all know somebody vulnerable who would essentially be sentenced to death following that approach. Get a grip people. Well said Even if covoid takes ou...

Re: Enjoying or hating the no football era?

I mate of mine generally takes the last 2-3 weeks off in March, and spends his time going to non-league football up and down the country.

I can't imagine he's too chuffed currently.

Last Four Days 16th = 1,543 - 055 Deaths Death-Rate = 3.56% 17th = 1,950 - 071 Deaths Death-Rate = 3.64% 18th = 2,626 - 104 Deaths Death-Rate = 3.96% 19th = 3,269 - 144 Deaths Death-Rate = 4.41% What I note from the above is that the death-rate appears to be climbing steadily each day, so far Fewer...

The regs used to be that you had to have played a certain percentage of games that you are available for over the course of your contract to get the work permit renewed when you sign a new contract. The argument being that you had to prove that the foreign player is offering a level of ability that...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

In the UK, 1700 died (est. 34k global deaths) n the last flu season we have records for. If more or less people end up dying from this is academic. These will be extra deaths that wouldn't have otherwise occurred. Deaths will always lag behind cases as well, as it takes quite a few days before peop...

Re: VAR

Said it before but I’ll say it again, VAR is only highlighting the inadequacies of the rules in Football. When you couple that with this inherent desire to make mountains out of mole hills found within football, we get what we have here. Yeah. The problem behind a lot of them is that most can under...
