Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Comments like the above though are just nonsensical. This is a club that are dining out on a three year spell forty years ago, and let’s not forget they haven’t been in the top flight for over 20 years now. They also spent some of today’s game singing about how ‘magic’ they are - delusions of grand...

Re: Chant Lyrics

What are the lyrics to "Super Reading FC".... it sounds like "by far the Greatest Team the World has ever seen"..... which can't be right as we're not even the greatest team in the Championship. We don't specify what it is that we are the greatest at. There must be a niche activ...

Re: Euro 2020

With Russia being banned by WADA for 4 years today, I assume they will have to be removed from Euro 2020 and hosting rights removed from St Petersburg? Looks like it will just be the World Cup in 2022. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/50710598 Despite the ban, Russia will be able to compete at ...

Re: BFTG - Blackpool

Amused by the BBC report that we were outplayed for the majority of the match. I don’t think either team can claim to have been in charge of the game for long periods. Agreed. I was also baffled by their comment that Blackpool deserved their 1-0. It was their first proper attack of the game... afte...

Re: Nostalgia thread

Anybody attend the charideee game a few weeks later? RFC legends versus the EastEnders cast? I went to that. It actually a short match (about 60 minutes) between Reading and Wokingham, won 4-0 by Reading, I believe. There must have been about 400 people there at most. It was an embarrassment to all...

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

Sutekh Wouldn’t the world be a better place if twitter was just shut down or ignored by everyone?

One day people will realise twitter isn't important.

Listening to comments on twitter is like listening to the shouty bloke in the pub, and assuming he represents what everyone is thinking.

Gunny Fishcake Apparently the last time we won a league game in December was 2017 against Sunderland ! Says a lot

It doesn't sound that out of the ordinary, but I checked and if we don't win today, it'll be 14 games.

Re: BFTG - Luton

While a 3-0 win is always nice, I was a bit disappointed that we didn't do better. Luton were terrible, yet even though we cut through their midfield at will, we didn't really create that many clear chances. The goals, when they came, were from a set piece, a piece of individualism, and a defensive ...

Re: VAR

As predicted, VAR isn't really solving any of the issues video technology was supposed to address. At the same time it's created it's own issues, slowed down the game at times, impacted on the way referees appear to be making decisions, and it's starting to have a negative effect on the joy of watc...

Re: BFTG Preston (H)

The players put a bit more effort in. Preston didn't even look like they were trying to win.

Beyond that, it's hard to get too enthused by anything, other than the late winner.

It's strange, but anything better than a shambolic defeat will be seen as encouraging.

Re: Howe out?

The hero worship of Howe on his return was stupid. People remember Coppell and McDermott and conveniently forget Bullivant, Burns and Rodgers. I'm not sure how much of a say he had in Bullivant getting the job. He seemed to have much more focus on getting the Madejksi Stadium built at the time. Tom...

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

Following on the "snake" comments I wonder if he said to McCleary, Gunter and Baldock on the sly something like "Stick around lads, keep drawing your good salaries, there is every chance that I'll be in charge if and when Jose gets the sack and I'll see that you then get a look in ag...

Re: Congratulations, you are the new Reading manager

GetReading showed a tweet with this comment Whoever the manager is that comes in, they’ll be inheriting a midfield with fantastic ball carrying and the ability to break the lines via dribbles. Swift & Ejaria rank in the top 5 for progressive carries p90 this season. Rinomhota excelled in this me...

Four Of Clubs NL Fixtures w/e Sat 12th October
45 Haywards Heath Town (04 IL1-SE) v Bracknell Town (04 IL1-SC)

It seems Bracknell lost this one 1-2, with the winning goal coming in the 88th minute from the Haywards Heath goalkeeper.

Re: Next Manager

The deafening silence is pretty hard to take at the moment, especially during the international break with no football. The longer we go with nothing happening is becoming a bit of a worry tbf. I guess the delay of appointing a manager is looking like ruling out those currently out of a job, unless...

Re: GOMES OUT!

I wonder how much of a say he had in the transfer deals. If a club signs players with poor attitudes, something we seem to have a real track record for in the last few years, it would be hard for anyone to succeed. Rather than sacking the manager every 9 months or so, I'd rather we had a proper look...

Subjective opinions However, what we have is the potential to kick-on (unlike in previous seasons). We have a team that is under performing...yes Needing a kick up the arse ....yes But capable of winning this league?......well yes...it won’t happen obvs. A change of management....with this talented...

Re: This is Poor

Ok, I have seen every game this season so far and now is enough. This team is poor. IMHO I think its the manager and his tactics that are not up to standard as the players have shown themselves to be quite skilful . ...when they feel like it, which isn't often enough. If you have lazy, gutless, and...
