Re: Season tickets to increase in price

That might be ok for you Sky / CM generation but for many fans there is more to it than just wins / draws/ defeats

I'd pay more to watch us draw 3-3 with Watford than to watch the Yeovil game every week

Re: Loan market: coming to a team near you Sunday

I think people are looking at this the wrong way. I doubt he, or any top class player , "really wants" to come to Reading, or to any club not in the CL, or in with a shout of serious silverware. We aren't going to be on the radar of players like that. However for good players who may have ...

Re: Leigertwood at center back

Surely he wasn't released because he was under contract. You can only release players who are out of contract unless you give them the balance of thier deal.
He may well be ok as an emergency 4th choice Cb but would he be a better option than Hector - who is a specialist.

Re: Season tickets to increase in price

I may be wrong but I think the point is if you are asking for more money to be spent are you willing to add your share? Perhaps it would have been better to propose an across the board 25% hike in prices with the increase put aside for transfer fees. The proposals as suggested don't obviously raise...

Re: Squad review now transfer window has closed

Worryingly, for me, at this moment in time it feel to me like: Adkins at Reading =/= Brendan Rodgers at Reading. A loud of management-speak waffle and mediocre results. Targets not acheived in the market. Playing style that the squad are unable to ever achieve. Plenty of time for Adkins to prove th...

Re: Squad review now transfer window has closed

At some point soon the club will have to make a decision about Hector. He's 21 now and should have proved himself one way or the other. Reports from Aberdeen seem encouraging. Maybe the club think he has a brighter future than Marriappa and he is the missing link. If he comes back from Aberdeen in ...

Re: Squad review now transfer window has closed

They don't go from Academy to first team, neither are Academy players. They are both full pro's - Ugwe is 20. They are playing U21 football currently.
I'd love to see Ugwe involved in the first team squad and was disappointed he didn't play at Peterborough (although maybe he was lucky not to !)

Re: Season tickets to increase in price

Sounds crazy. Simple issues like making the North Stand seats almost half the price of the East would not work when the majority of those seats are already taken by ST. You would effectively give a couple of thousand people built in cheaper seats because everyone would renew and no one would go on s...

Re: Squad review now transfer window has closed

I'm a bit confused on how this rating system works. We have 5 decent wingers so depth is hardly an issue there. Drenthe and McClary are as good as anything elsewhere and a choice of HRK, Obita and Jobi off the bench is better than the majority will have in this division. 4 full backs seems as much a...

OS says town centre shuttle buses for Oman game only, probably has details for the U21's on the OS too but I can't be bothered looking.

Re: Speculation - Mariappa to Watford

rfc58 So unless we are getting a player in who is ready to challenge instantly for a place, this leaves us thin on the ground, as Morrison and Pearce aren't exactly ripping up trees.

A player challenging for a place would be a big step up, as Mapps clearly hasn't been doing that for whatever reason

Re: Stephen Kelly withdrawing from ROI squad

|'m confused, Harte and Shorey left the club months ago so where they happen to be playing makes no difference to how we off for left backs, Kelly is a perfectly decent left back and Cummings can play there as well so it's hardly a problem position. If Mapps has gone then I'd be amazed if we are was...

Re: Peterborough - refund the fans?

I understand and probably agree with most of that HH, but given that it's (hopefully) a one-off utter shambles something like putting on free coaches wouldn't be the worst PR or gesture. I don't think they should get full ticket money back but a gesture from the squad wouldn't be ridiculous to me. ...
