Re: Swift's new role

Hound Looked at that the other day. Really didn’t expect to see Fletcher amongst the list but fair play, has good stats

Others all fairly predictable

Good company to be keeping

Re: Rafael

Getting Virginia may have been a blessing in disguise. If he hadn’t made a couple of complete howlers early doors, then Gomes may not have gone into the market for another keeper before the end of the window. It now seems we’ve got ourselves a decent keeper on a free transfer

Re: BFTG - Preston (a)

Just listening to Bowen’s interview He’s genuinely the first manager for a while I enjoy listening to. Rather than just bland cliches he does give a bit of insight into what the plans were etc The stuff about just keeping positions and ‘enjoying defending’ are quite interesting imo I am loving the ...

Re: Upset the Apple cart.

Stick with what is working. Make a few changes for Blackpool, perhaps give Moore a rest for Miazga and let Obita get some game time. Also let Yiadom get some competitive minutes under his belt, same as Puscas. We could put out a pretty strong team while still giving players game time. Presume Adam w...

Re: BFTG QPR

+1 Mostly agree. I'd like to see us utilize Ejaria as effectively as QPR do with Eze. I don't think we can purely build the team around him as we have Swift too, but Ejaria really should be in the middle of the pitch where he can influence the game better. Blackett is not a natural attacking left b...

Re: Form

I was definitely in the camp of thinking the Bowen appointed was a pretty shrewd move at the time. And current form is demonstrating that right now. Yes we’re not a perfect team and give too many chances away to be comfortable. But I think we’re pretty decent to watch, a lot more streetwise and diff...

Re: BFTG QPR

Not sure why Bowen didn’t use McCleary’s experience in the last few minutes instead of Boye, who is more of a forward when replaying Ejaria who played left midfield all game. Or McCleary instead of Olise. Just seemed a little odd. Could have used Obita to replace Ejaria as well Just realised McClea...

Re: BFTG - Derby

My only criticism of the ref was I think there were a couple of instances when a player already on a yellow made challenges etc which I felt would have been a yellow but didn’t feel the ref wanted to send a second player off. But it was touch and go Couldn’t believe how many fouls Derby gave away. T...

Re: BFTG - Derby

Thought we should have scored 5 or 6 yesterday we created some decent opportunities but either let down by a poor final ball or an inability to get a shot off quickly or first time. Actually quite impressed with Joao as well. Did a lot of good things and did track back a bit at times. Not sure why G...

Re: CONFIMRED - Joao Virginia

Latest interview says Everton want Virginia back (I for one will volunteer to drive him back to scouseland and make sure he bloody stays there). I don't know whether Bowen was just being kind in saying Everton wanted him back or we were being polite and saying "please take him back he f*cking ...

Re: BFTG Birmingham

Re: Cabral, he's meh. He's someone who just does a job. Not good. Not woeful. He's just someone who doesn't make howlers but who isn't great either. Not a promotion winning keeper. Just about ok. I always feel nervous when he comes out and punches and feel he parries and punches more than most keep...

Re: BFTG Birmingham

Agreed on Maghoma as well. The guy he replaced was meant to be one of their danger men, but thought Maghoma made a big difference to them. Looked a good player Seen him 2 or 3 times now for Brum and always thought he looked pretty decent. I guess he's the sort of player that lacks consistency thoug...

Re: BFTG Birmingham

Also - that was poor goalkeeping from Raphael. He literally had to just jump to save as he was way over that side, infact you could argue he was to much over. He is not a goalkeeper who seems to be able to dive and fly through the air for those high shots. he always seems quite short for a keeper (...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a) sponsored by a long trek up north

Don’t suppose we have a recall clause on Barrow in January. Puscas really looks like he’d thrive on proper wingers pinging early balls into the box. Not sure Bowen would be brave enough to drop either Swift or Ovie and regularly play 4-4-2

Re: Liam Moore Interview Part 2

the first one was one of the best football podcasts I've listened to. Very open and honest and came across as a decent and very likeable fella. Liam Moore was alright too :D
