Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hopes

Preston were dreadful. They rarely threatened and were clearly happy to settle for a point. We were not much better but at least had a bit of a go. Meite and Puscas didn’t have any connection at all though and that needs to change. Well, Preston have only one won one away game all season. This is w...

Re: STEVE COPPELL

AthleticoSpizz With Marcus H also at the game today, there is some good rumour -mongering opportunities to feed off of

Did Marcus bring any of his guns, because there were quite a few occasions where PNE players appeared to have been shot from the stands.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

Thought we played well. PNE top of the table and we just about outplayed them. We just shaped up a whole lot better. Players seem to know their positions and proper actual tactics PNE were a horrible divey, niggly bunch, constantly play acting and trying to ref the game. Deserved to lose deep in in...

Re: BFTG Preston (H)

Hound Actually scored an absolute load of late goals recently

Wigan, Ipswich, Norwich, Wolves, Swansea, Fulham(admittedly pointless), today...

Not surprising seeing as we rarely started trying until about the 70th minute and at least 1 down.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

It will be nice just to get to being a mid table side again as I am getting sick over the last couple of years of hearing bottom feeder clubs like Brentford, Preston, and Bristol Shitty coming out with the "should be beating teams like Reading" comments. You expect the Billy Big Balls com...

Cabral
Yiadom
Obita
Moore
Miazga
Morrison
Pele
Rino*
Swift
Puscas
Baldock**

*super harsh on Ejaria, but think he's the better impact sub of him and Swift and just think the pair of them is too much, especially away to a team doing well
** no way I expect Meite to be fit

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

Hound Yes, I actually like the admission that he was ok with 0-0 after 70. As I was as well

A couple of times first half I checked the clock on a PNE attack (12 and 18 mins I think) thinking - yep, this is about time they score according to the Gomes script.

BFTG Preston (H)

Really good result and quite deserved. A few words of caution to start though. I though Preston were the worst side I've seen this season except us, so baffled how they're riding so high. Plus despite better defending and play in general they still got a couple of alarming free headers they didn't d...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

Hound They were much better set up at FB. Was so simple but basically when Obita went forward, Moore moved out to LB and went back 4 and same on the other side.

Oh yeah, way way better.

Moore back on the left side of course. Another way in which Gomes shit the bed.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Well done everyone. Sagged in the middle a bit but kept at it all game and the end was really worth it.

Obvious the players noticed and appreciated it too.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

Thought both Puscas and Meite did fine. Tough game and both showed up. Puscas really does make excellent runs and gets in the right places, so think it’s a matter of time before he gets a few Baldock was good off the bench as well. New option and looked fast and sharp. Gomes shat the bed with him. ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

That. Was. Great. Not the game or performance or the ref. The result and the way it came. Preston were the biggest timewasting bunch of fouling crybaby shithouses I've seen in years. Absolute toss the entire team. We weren't great. But there was more fight and we got lucky on the two obligatory fre...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

Boye and Joao both out injured, Rinomhota ill No Gunter or McCleary anywhere, Barrett also an omission Same furcoat and no knickers midfield. All comes down to how the full backs play. High and we're oxf*rd unless Preston have forgotten to watch us at all this season. Unless the shape is not at all...

We'll win today, I'm sure of it. I hate to disappoint you, but I'm going so hard to see past anything but a big fat L. Currently 4 from 4 live and 1 from 1 streamed this season. You're due a win x I'm genuinely not sure I can remember the last one. I actually can't remember if I saw a win under Gom...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

But, if you take into account the Secret Footballer theory, fail to get them up this season and he gets the sack with the addendum that "He couldn't even get Sunderland out of L1 with all their resources". But yeah, he gets a nice payoff because Sunderland pay over the odds because no-one...

Archer Yeah the guy who was well known for hatting dealing with agents, chairmen, ceo’s Etc is defo gonna come back as DOF.

Probably should have given him the manager’s job. But I really don’t think he’d want or need the hassle.

You mean the guy who has done more than one DoF style job since leaving us?

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Was it the Secret Footballer who said that the only reason anyone ever signs for Sunderland is the money? Something about it being a footballing graveyard of unrealistic ambitions, impatient and obnoxious fan base and generally a miserable place to be. L1 is the time to take over. A club of their s...
