Re: Euro 2020

NathStPaul When is the earliest England can play Wales? We could do with an easy game in the last 16.

Taken from the Melody Maker. Think it was from the 86 World Cup. There was a picture of Mad Bob heading the ball as well. :D

Re: Euro 2020

I suspect that number isn't that much more than the entourages of the G7/D10 held in Cornwall last week; didn't see President Macron or Chancellor Merkel having to spend 10 days at the Heathrow Travelodge.............. Agreed but it is more the fact that they have said no once to UEFA over this, ri...

Getting pissed off at the pronunciation of Ukraine players names

When a name ends in "ko" (half the bloody team) the commentators all say a long "Koh" like in "coke", when it should be as short "ko" as in "cock"...

Re: Euro 2020

NathStPaul Ukraine's anthem is a banger.

8)

I was walking through a beer tent in the pub and literally had to stop and listen to it. Almost had to stop myself singing out loud.

As soon as the anthem finished I felt able to continue to the table with my friends.

Re: European Super League

Sunday Times’ Cummings-Johnson article has some interesting dirt. Johnson met Ed Woodward, chief exec of Manchester United, 3 days before the Super League announcement and gave backing for the move https://i.postimg.cc/HxRPXTm3/Ezz-XF8-LX0-AE-SZp.jpg Three days later, after the outrage begins he con...

Re: European Super League

I find it genuinely amazing that a group of people who have (mostly) built up companies to the point they are billionaires got this so badly wrong. These are not thick people. They must have a lot of business intelligence and decades of experience of knowing what you do before launching something n...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

4 games left for Frosinone, who are 1 place outside the relegation zone in Serie B. If they win those 4 games they could be in the promotion play offs. What a division! I need to dig out my old post on the Serie B play offs as they are beautifully complex and they don't know how many teams will tak...

Re: European Super League

Mr Angry IMO the Premier League should instigate an independent enquiry into this debacle, and then look to punish those responsible

Look at those who have resigned.

Re: European Super League

I think you're trying a bit hard slating the use of LFC there Uke. That seems like a reasonable enough statement from Henry who, as Stranded says, is going to have to mend some serious bridges here. The main thing that has come out of this for me is don't these clubs have big expensive PR teams? Th...

Grovelling apology from the owner of the Merseyside Reds franchise just now He apologises to the fans of the franchise explaining how they are important and refers to the club using the popular nickname “LFC” that the fans always use https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/431970-john-henry-s-me...

Re: European Super League

Teams are now just legacy names linked to cities buying the best players from around the world, no connection to “supporters” who are now just fans and customers.

FUKK EM

Hopefully the review if ever implemented in time, will reconnect clubs with towns.

Re: Ex Players

As far as I'm concerned Bowen did nothing wrong and was badly treated. From a relegation battle to mid table, and the way his departure was handled was a farce. I actually don't think we'd have done as well had he stayed, so maybe we're vindicated, but I'd be bitter in his position, especially give...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Cant stand Charlton, but really like Adkins, a decent bloke. Hope he does well there. Fwiw, via a couple of sources, everything that turned bad behind the scenes at RFC post-McDermott promotion had at its root Nigel Adkins. Apparently rude, condescending and didn't care one iota for staff who had b...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Chris Wilder about to be sacked at Sheffield United. What's the point? They are already doomed. Bit like McDermott's sacking in 2013. Breakdown in relations between owner and Wilder, they want to employ a DOF he won't work with one. I was also about to post that it seems like odd timing, but then I...
