Re: It is all Grimsby's fault!

FA Cup in 1988/1989, beat Hendon, Maidstone and then the might of Tranmere in the 3rd round and got drawn away at Grimsby Town from the division below (and on their way to a stirring 9th place finish that season) in the 4th round. Fairly typical of Reading's FA Cup draws, horribly unattractive and ...

Re: In or Out?

The football fan in me says the team selections, performances and results have not been consistent enough and ultimately the buck stops with the manager. Unless there is drastic improvement, there is a danger of this going off the rails. The project manager in me says this is a five year project, we...

probably true, but for my generation his voice will always reson8. Ditto David Coleman, Brian Moore, Bill Mclaren, Richie Benaud etc. When you think about it, who needs comment8ors on telly? I always thought Brian Moore was fcuking shite. Apart from his head looking uncannily like London Planetariu...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a) sponsored by 12 Parkinsons

One thing- McShane is really lacking in pace and it’s starting to worry me, is he past it now? Seems a shadow of himself last year, although with those injuries and his age I really shouldn’t be so surprised I was surprised that McShane was given a year extension. Given Blackett's relative solidity...

I'd look at 13pts from those games, beat Barnsley (h), Burton and Birmingham, lose to Ipswich and Bristol City, draw the rest.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Anyway, bollocks to rugby, some Bolton fan said this

Reading really upped their game after we went two up and the signs were there for the remainder of the first half that we were still in a game. Barrow, Aluko and Blackett all stood out for them.

Gah I am not trolling. What is what I said different to what Sutekh said? It's the exact same thing when Genome talk to kes. He gets picked on by everybody for doing it even though everybody does it. I have had it with this board. I was just giving my honest opinion as a money paying person who can...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

I'd be surprised if the Women's team cost more than £1m a year to run. Fara Williams may, as a top earner, be on something like £30,000-40,000 a year, Kelly Chambers maybe something similar but there's only about 20 players in the squad and I doubt there's many earning more than £20,000 a year.

Re: Reading FC Womens World

I've seen the one from Arsenal but for me, the technique to hit a dropping ball on the volley into the top corner from distance surpasses hitting a 70 yd dead ball.

Both excellent goals though

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Fara Williams has won the player of the month. She scored an amazing goal direct from a kick off. She scored an absolute belter away to Liverpool that brought back memories of Simon Osborn at the Valley @28 seconds in this clip http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41475638 It's good to see they are ...

Re: Confimred new owners of Reading Football Club

For us it was a case of extracting ourselves from the TSI shit. They were the best option at a time when any option was better than no option. The Chinese seem better than the Thais who were clearly better than TSI. Not sure the Thais would be the best fit for Oxford. Learn from Madejski's mistakes,...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Best players for the Royals in the 1st half are the 4 Williams and the 8 Allen - a female Liam Kelly H-T 0-0 Fara Williams should be good, she's the all time most capped England player and one of the best midfielders in WSL. A real statement of ambition and intent to sign someone of her stature. Do...

Re: Best goal scored at the Mad Stad

Personally, I like a passing build up from the back that results in a rocket fired into the top corner from 30yds so Lita's against West Brom it is. (2min 58 in this clip which incidentally also demonstrates just how good James Harper was) https://youtu.be/b2JchWF-udo For a 30yd rocket, it's still S...
