Re: FAO Tredder

Even Tredder would admit to us having better support, our ground is better, our turnover bigger. Sadly football these days is about money. Rangers have shit loads and we have oxf*rd all. Where would you honestly prefer to watch your home games though? A stadium in the middle of nowhere with nothing...

Re: FAO Hobnob

6 years ago when I moved up North, I enquired about joining STAR EXiles. I'm still waiting for a response. How can you join and make a difference from within when they don't appear to be interested. STAR comes across as a clique interested in little more than maintaining the status quo and happy to ...

Perhaps if just once in a while he actually looked like he enjoyed playing football rather than just being deparate for the attention then I might have the smallest smidgeon of sympathy for him. You play for one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world, with some of the best players in ...

Re: Di Canio vs McDermott

Di Canio is good comedy value, but sooner or later he is going to come unstuck with his man-management style, which would not be tolerated in most workplaces. He has poor self-control, as was shown when he pushed the ref and when he did the salute. In theory he has matured , but in practice all tha...

Re: Which football ground in London is the best?

Craven Cottage. Certainly some bad memories of over zealous policing in the late 80's and early 90's but a ground that has been modernised without destroying its character, in a pleasant location and pretty easy to get to.

Re: Official Deadline Day Thread......

That was my point 7 pages ago. We were linked to 1 player and the only link about it is that we had a bid of 4m euros turned down when the asking price was 5m euros. Yes it would have been a club record transfer fee but we were interested enough to put in a record bid anyway and with the new owners ...

Re: Official Deadline Day Thread......

Cast you mind back to this time last year.... We'd just lost the play-off final, sold Mills, sold Long & the cloth cutting was in full swing. DESPITE all that we went on to miraculously win the league, we've not had to sell any players to balance the books & have signed some fcuking good pl...

Re: Official Deadline Day Thread......

What concerns me is that, not withstanding a sudden surge of signings announced after thge deadline a la 2009/2010, our squad does not appear strong enough at present and it seems like we have missed out on the sort of deal that could have singed us a youngster with potential and Champions League ex...

Re: Which football ground in London is the worst?

Selhurst or Loftus Rd. Selhurst is a shithole in the arse end of nowhere, populated by retards. As for Loftus Rd, Been there 4 times, twice seated in the top tear, twice in the bottom tier when it was terraced. Any ground where no-one in the top tier bar the front row can see the near goal isn't fit...

Ginger_Blitz Russell Brand

If budget permits, I suspect that is a good call.

Read the thread title and immediately thought Russell Brand. although if it's being funded by FIlm Agency Wales, put an each way bet on Rhys Ifans.

LoyalRoyalFan What about next Saturday?

International games isn't it? Don't want to have to play without some of our players.

Sunderland playing away at Swansea next Saturday would be more of a hindrance.

Our game at Chelsea was brought forward because of the European Super Cup on Friday night.

Re: RUMOUR - Carlton Cole

Most likely bollocks but a striker that has regularly scored 10-15 goals per season at both Prem and Championship level for £5m would be decent business. And that striker isn't Carlton Cole. Has scored at least 10 goals per season in the last 4 seasons. A 28yo nearly man. At £5m i don't see what he...

Re: 'We support our local team!'

Of course Wigan are top, 65 of their fans live in Wigan, while the other 35 are still in Whiston Hospital after being beaten up by a fat, drunken Dingle last season. It is misleading because the 30 mile average journey that they quote for Reading fans takes in OX, SL GU HP and SP postcodes. Wigan h...

Re: Sepp Blatter 4 Reading 2

Always found the 1 World Cup bit somewhat ironic because 1970, 1982, 1990 and 2010 kind of redress the balance. Not to mention 1980, 1988 and 1996. And the 2 World Wars bit given that WW1 was a draw! That is a rather odd interpretation of the German surrender? The Germans didn't surrender, a ceasef...

Re: Sepp Blatter 4 Reading 2

And Sepp Blatter was playing him onside.

To he honest, a small part of me is just happy it wasn't a cricket score, although the way England have played this summer, it was.
