Re: MATCHWATCH : Brighton & Hove Albion U21 (a)

I'd go a semi strength team. Rest our fab 4 of Wing, Smith, Azeez and Knibbs, but otherwise full strength. Plus a useful run out for McIntyre if available.

Re: The generic transfer thread

So reports that Henderson wants to return to the PL. I doubt anyone will be convinced to go for him. Must go down as one of the worst transfer decisions a player has made. Any others to rival it? I think making about £5m for 5 months work is a pretty good transfer decision tbh. He clearly disagrees...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group v2.3b sponsored by Sports Direct Tennis Ba

So much speculation on how Dai will act. If he was acting rationally, he'd have accepted the Genevra bid which was rumoured at c. £30m and fcuked off. He'll never get a better offer. Do we know what his plan is? Definitely not. Should we be extremely concerned about how this ends? Definitely. Does ...

Re: Weekend Football

When you see players try and stay on their feet and mess up their cross / shot because they've been knocked off balance, 95% of the time the ref gives nothing. They need to be rewarded for staying on their feet hugely disagree, and I feel that is part of the problem of where football has gone. Its ...

Re: Weekend Football

Trouble is, anyone involved in the game at any time in recent memory, will have heard the phrase “he has a perfect right to go down there” so many times that, scandalously, it is now a part of football’s DNA. But no, it’s not too late to fix it - it just needs the will to do so. I remember a Patric...

Re: Weekend Football

Good game between Arsenal and Liverpool. I do wonder if instead of signing Havertz and Raya, Arsenal should have gone big on Osimeh are another CF. Obviously Toney is available now but he wouldn't have helped them so far this season.

Werner heading to Spurs, and Dier heading to... Bayern  I laughed when I saw that as well, why would Bayern want Dier who knows. Spurs must be hoping they can get more goals out of Werner than what Chelsea did. Always thought his movement was good, just seemed short of any confidence at Chelse...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

The Cowley Brothers appointed by Colchester - looks like a very decent appointment for a club in their position - wouldn't have been against them coming to us in the summer. I commented awhile back that i spoke at length to Cowley around February 2023 time. He is managing his daughters football tea...

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

So whilst it stinks, it could be argued that the club are just bringing their staffing down to a L1, which given we will be L1 next year too (at best) does make a form of sense and naturally brings the expenditure levels down further. The sad likelihood is that we are being crippled financially by ...

Exeter beat Carlisle and Cheltenham beat Pompey at home. As many said at the time, that was a good point earned. Indeed, local press also overstating the importance of today's games...if these were catch up games in April I'd get it but other sides' results are irrelevant with 20 games to g...

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

It might be that we got rid of the two most underperforming members of the coaching team. Bowen may have been told that we needed to cut costs and between him and Selles, they moved on the worst ones. That's what a well-run club would do though. EN was head of player development rather than a coach...

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

James Earnshaw saying the club has insisted it wants to retain category 1 academy when asked. Scarcely seems believability. And agree that news of cuts would have made sense in June after relegation and you could argue it's overdue, but it's so much more disruptive mid season. Amazing how so many pe...

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Andrew Sparkes and Eddie Niedzwiecki have been let go. 3 things: 1. They are important staff members so the club must really be desperate. 2. Indicates that no takeover is close. 3. May well effect performances on the pitch. Who is assisting Selles now? How long until the lights are turned off? You...

Earnshaw responding to questions on Twitter that there are still 3 or 4 parties interested, but no real progress and we're basically back to where we were in early November. So don't expect anything imminent, but don't give up hope that we're stuck with him. Originally we wanted him gone by January ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

I expect another ban and a fine. Do the FA even have the jurisdiction to apply a points deduction? I thought only the EFL could. If it was a player it would be a points deduction, mistake or not. With a manager though, no idea. Pretty sure it would be an EFL charge for fielding an ineligible player...
