Re: Zurab told to find new club

But if you think how many senior players we signed in the Prem as just backups, Rosenior was our second choice right back, Duberry was well down the pecking order but ahead of Bennett and Sodje. All those backups have been replaced with a thinner squad and players like Taylor, bignall, Kelly, Davie...

Re: GYLFI!!!!!!!!!

To be honest if the rumours on here of a £5m relaease clause are true then any talk of a transfer fee over £5m is just wasted breathe. He's probably worth over that now because of his potential, so selling him would be a real shame. As someone else suggested Walcott went to Arsenal for £12m, admitte...

Re: EngLOLand - The Backlash!

Apologies if this has already been posted but a little birdy tells me.... A non playing squad member earns a minimum of £250,000 for going to the world cup as one of the 23 Appearence money and other bonuses can then be added. Each player when arriving at their 5star hotel room had waiting for them...

Re: EngLOLand - The Backlash!

Big mike sounds like a bit of a tarrier, but to be fair he's making a few points I agree with and its easy to see why a lot of people get annoyed. British Broadcasting is not ENGLISH broadcasting, it should also be catering to the " sweaties, taffs and micks" as you put it. If we base a g...

Re: Cipriani had trial at Reading!

also on the bbc's site it doesn't really mean much, skill at one sport doesn't equal skill at another Not true. Gary neville could have played cricket professionally and was already playing for england juniors. He wa also playing football for manchester utd's youth setup and choose to pursue footba...

Re: Zurab - I want to come back

I think it's a non-starter really. The transfer fee is important, but what is crucial is that we'd be making the third or fourth choice centre half our top-paid player. That makes no sense. Second choice, Mills then Zurab Far from clear that would be the case. The likes of you and Royalee may think...

Re: Zurab - I want to come back

Blackburn could also pay off his contract and make him a free agent. That's true though perhaps more likely is tat they'll still command a fee though a lower fee than they were asking for previously. I think McDermott is probably just playing a waiting game here. He'll know exactly who else is inte...

Re: Portugal - North Korea

Top story in North Korea is their glorious football team scoring a resounding 5-0 victory over Portugal, despite only using 6 blindfolded players. Top Tory-story is, of course, slagging off someone else despite not EVER going anywhere near the place to find out! As to Ronaldo. When did he co...

Re: England v Slovenia [poll attached]

England will win this. I think they'll play Joe Cole on the left which will finally give the team some shape, it'll benefit Ashley Cole's game too.

Re: Italy vs New Zealand [OFFICIAL THREAD]

Italy -v- New Zealand eh? World Cups used to be exciting. Given New Zealand has given us one of the most exciting finishes to a game in the tournament, and Italy are perennially boring cheats, that sir, is a load of bollocks. Yep, although there haven't been many goals there have been a lot of upse...

Re: Algeria v England [OFFICIAL THREAD]

England have a chance to get to the semi finals without playing a single team ranked in the first 13 of the FIFA rankings. To state that this represents the easiest route to the semi finals in years, is not arrogant, it is simply stating fact. Slovenia also have the opportunity to exploit this unus...

Re: Algeria v England [OFFICIAL THREAD]

I didn't rubbish Uruguay. I'M not being arrogant either - I'm merely pointing out facts. If you think we didn't have one of the easier groups that's up to you, personally, I think we did and when England play at their best should have got a few more points than we currently have. If I was offered G...

Re: Algeria v England [OFFICIAL THREAD]

Hold on. This *was* Algeria's cup final. They put a million men behind the ball, closed everything down, had forty men man-marking Rooney and didn't have a single meaningful shot on goal. First of all, you are being just as arrogant as Gerrard with your dismissive comments about Algeria. They didn'...

joe cole needs to start next game. he's probably our most skillful player and we've not used him once WHY? And he can actually play on the left wing ffs. Being left footed myself I always have a greather interest in thew left wing and those tactcs just drive me mental. Gerrard was NOWHERE and altho...
