Re: Ex Players

Dave Kitson was on Talksport yesterday morning. I only caught a bit of it, maybe it is recorded somewhere. The presenter was a Cambridge fan so was asking him about his time there and his move to us. DK said that Cambridge had accepted a £1M offer from Cardiff and 1 other for him, then ITV Digital ...

Re: The Non - League thread

Didn't see a non-league game this weekend, but went with a mate up to Carlisle. He'd already been to Carlisle, so while I went to Brunton Park, he drove a couple of miles down the road to watch Carlisle City in a North West Counties League Division One Cup tie v Eccleshall. He was one of only 49 fan...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Sutekh Elm. Park. Disease.

I recently found some copies of Elm Park Disease, plus a multitude of Taking the Biscuits, in a box among programmes I'd stuck up in the loft.

They must be worth at least 1p to an avid fanzine collector.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Was there not a short-lived fanzine from circa '97 called Taking the Biscuit ? Which also leads me to remember The Whiff which I used to love. If the creators of that post on here then please give yourselves huge pats on the back. Taking the Biscuit lasted several years, and was arguably the best f...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I'm quite enjoying being one of the more hated clubs in the league/country. Sort of like the anti-Millwall as it were I don't think we are one of the more hated clubs. It's simply a case of emotional little darlings wailing about something they think justifies them being upset as opposed to being u...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

It was £35 when I went for the worst view in the championship. And whilst Portman Road is an old ground it’s hardly Villa Park and a cauldron of noise. Bearing in mind the utter trip we’ve played the last two seasons it’s amazing anyone bothers to turn up! Soulless identikit bowl seems to be code f...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bracknell Town (a) sponsored by local derby fun

This game has, believe it or not, now been made all ticket. https://twitter.com/BracknellTownFC/status/1059490344008667138 Apparently the limit is 1000 tickets, and Bracknell have already sold over 600. Where you hear that from? Can safely have over 2000 inside. The expectation was 1000 going into ...

Re: The Non - League thread

Old Man Andrews whilst the rest of the ground is similar to their current one..

...as in just hard standing on three sides?

I assume that unlike at the current ground, there will be room to expand should they want to.

The picture of the new ground on the club site looks very basic

Re: The Non - League thread

it shows you where Bracknell are. Really hope they go up this season and then consolidate in the Premier for a couple of years. By that time the new stadium should be built too , can really push on then. What's the story on this, because I've heard very little. There was something a while back abou...

Re: BFTG - Bristol City

Am I the only one who thinks that we didnt play very well today? We certainly didn't play well , but we were a lot better than we have been. Play like that for the rest of the season and there's no way we'll go down. We won't be mounting a play-off challenge either, but there was a big difference b...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bracknell Town (a) sponsored by local derby fun

I particularly like Alvechurch v Oxford '71 which needed 5 replays. I particularly didn't like the three replays Reading needed to beat Welling circa 1990. Two of them were 0-0 draws, and I also managed to miss both goals of the first replay by not managing to get to Welling's ground for the replay...

Re: David Meyler - Reading's biggest ever mercenary?

McDermolenko Taking attention away from both Clement and Gourlay for a second, I really do believe that nowhere near enough has been made of David Meyler's attitude this season.

Wtf is going on?!

I think most people just forgot he exists.

Re: The Non - League thread

I appreciate this could well be old news and mentioned here already, but I'd not realised what a mess the new play-off system is in non-league football https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FpT-9JNWkU It's particularly bad at step 4, where a low-placed play-off contender could in theory make it to their ...

Re: The Non - League thread

My novelty fixture involved getting up at 6.30 for a trip to Spennymoor. Thankfully I wasn't driving. We got rewarded with a 5-0 win for the home side, which was rather harsh on Ashton, who weren't ever that bad. They just didn't mark very well and conceded three set-piece goals in the first half. t...
