Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

As I posted elsewhere, Bowen has been part of the set-up, a big and important part, already so he has been responsible in part for the signing of players, the retention of players and the way that we play. This appointment is a surprise as I thought he might be on the way out as well. Who knows if ...

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

Well this news is going to depress and deflate most supporters Let’s try and be positive rather than over-reacting and not giving him a chance before a ball is even kicked though. This will be Mark’s first sojourn as a manager so he will be anxious to get it right and prove himself. While he does no...

Re: The Great, Big Royal International Thread

Delighted to see Richard's made his Under21 debut. He deserves it. He really stepped it up. Yes, JG and his team really did seem to have brought Omar Richards much closer to fulfilling his potential so much so that most of us didn’t understand why Jordan Obita took his place when he regained fitness.

Re: Next Manager

Neil Harris now in the betting at 8/1

GetReading have also suggested Ian Culverhouse and Željko Buvač if the club was looking for some real leftfield options though on no real grounds other than who they’ve worked with as assistants.

Re: Congratulations, you are the new Reading manager

I suggest forming a ring of 9 around the best dribbler in the team and moving up the pitch as if one unit then belt the ball over the bar from 3 foot out as would be the Reading way

Luis Figo moving up the odds lists - more Portuguese football? Randomly Figo was in Guildford quite recently. I know, I know. Seriously tenuous! Yes just seen on twitter - odds have come in from 100 to 20's Got to make a bet there, if nothing else just to keep the LOLs going and to see if eno...

genome According to Lyon's chairman Mourinho has chosen his next job, and it's in England. Can't see him going back to United, he won't go to Everton, so... Spurs?!

Re: Next Manager

You just know it’ll be Mark Bowen as the next manager though don’t you At least he’s a former player (1 game was it, back in 1999?) Reading have had more success with appointing new managers in their first role than they have any other type of manager eg. Branfoot, McGhee, Pardew, McDermott so perha...

Re: Gomes sacked?

Tuned into BBC Berks this morning and Ady WIlliams was talking to Andrew Peach and they had a bookie on the line giving odds on the next manager...... I assumed that mean't Gomes had been sacked, but turns out that wasn't the case. When Peach asked Ady if all this speculation/social media stuff cou...

Re: Next Manager

I notice that in addition to Mark Bowen Mr Hughes’ seems also to have worked a lot with former Reading assistant and caretaker manager Eddie Niedzwiecki.

Wondering if Eddie may also be part of any managerial change.

Old Man Andrews We need Ian Royal at the helm. Safe pair of hands.

Shame on you for no Gareth Ainsworth as a poll option too.

Now with added Gareth.
