Re: Coronavirus outbreak

2 world wars, 1 world cup Please everyone be respectful in times like this and let's not mention the war.

I agree, but to be fair they did do a lot of medical research in the early 1940's...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Its been interesting reading all your comments and how things are in the UK. I'm in Japan and so far the confirmed numbers have remained fairly stable which is surprising given the number of Chinese tourists that came here up until it all went bang.. However for the 900 or so cases we have here the ...

Re: BFTG - Baggies

Well that was my last game before I emigrate to Japan so was hoping for a win as a send off.. Sadly they just looked sharper across the pitch and we look like a team that is work in progress. They pressed as a group, were happy to play in tight spaces, linking 2-3 quick passes to create shooting ch...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Talking of stupid comments, remind us who said "100% Reading will lose to Forest" ? 100%. We were about to until Baldock scored. I was technically correct. Remember when we beat Arsenal in the cup, until we didn't and they won? We won, technically. I used to think my favourite ever game a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (a) sponsored by Neil Webb

Got as far as Leicester services. Journey up from Swindon was awlfull. Continual heavy rain all the way. Just one of those things. At least I didn't all the way to the ground. Early call off was far better than the farce some years back at Sheff Utd. When I was literally outside the ground. Me too....

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (a) sponsored by Neil Webb

Wasn’t there a time in the mid 80s when you could ring a number and get game updates. Certainly seem to remember Reading (like most league clubs) had a dedicated number where you could get the latest news read to you very slowly after you had got through several rounds of headlines and coming is a ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (a) sponsored by Neil Webb

Anyone got any recommendations on how I can get a live link to watch this game?

Am over in Japan so decided its high time I try and watch the games if I can find a live feed. Sports bars are fun but full of egg chasing, baseball, and watching Iniesta and co (my local team) f***ing it up each week!!

“So last night I made it top 9 divisions played in scored in ⚽️ thank you to everyone @EnfieldFC for making me feel so welcome. So happy and proud I can still play this wonderful game #ageisjustanumber #44 #368”

Re: Ejaria vs Siggy

There’s a reason Stam had him second choice (behind the “awful” Joey - well according to most posters), Clement didn’t play him, Lampard barely played him. Because he had no influence on a game I wouldn’t say he was particularly good at positioning and defending. We still conceded a shed load with ...

Re: Ejaria vs Siggy

glen little was better at dribbling Darren Caskey was better at free kicks, penalties and eating pies. Darren Caskey could probably have scored a free kick whilst eating a pie... How many times did he curl one in and you watched the keeper dive knowing he was never going to save it... 100% agree on...

Re: Footballing philosophy

Safe to say he’s probably pretty similar to Mark Hughes. Think it would be difficult to pin down Hughes’ philosophy - his Blackburn team were counter attackers based around Bellamy, Pedersen and Bentley, but his Stoke team were more about little technical players like Shaqiri and Arnautovic. So I’d...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Charlton Athletic (h) sponsored by Dave Shipperley

I was at Bury in the early 80's when we won for the first time in about 70 years thanks in part to at least one or two goals from the late Dean Horrix. Did he score one or two that day...? Because of that 3-2 win I have always has a slight soft spot for Bury they remind me of a northern version of w...

Hendo Seen the goal and it is a good save from the first effort but GP does really well to follow it in and score.

Well I would probably say the Mad Stad, but I did used to enjoy the 'steam' on the southbank just after we scored...!!

I really think all seater stadiums are much less fun... Get the safety thing, but steaming just after a goal is what football is about!

Is that the same Kenedy that had a few issues in China on a pre-season tour a few years ago.

Something about disrespecting the locals!

The Hope Akpan example too, above, showing me that playing against a team and then joining them probably isn't as rare as I thought, maybe scoring is though! Edit: Akpan signed at the same time at Nick Blackman - there can't be many other instances of a Premier League side debuting two players at t...

[quote="Hound"]Maybe, but that shouldn’t mean you just always buy cheap McNulty didn’t really look up to it. He might have been given time but we can’t afford that. We’ve been bottom 5 four of the last 5 seasons. Get it wrong with a lower div punt this year and we could well go down I agre...

Gomes has said that a midfielder will be coming in this week and if it is him I would be happy-not that my happiness is the main concern of RFC-and he is a step up from Barrett and Loader in midfield. Barrett's only really played wide for the first team and Loader plays AM or wide or upfront. We ha...
