The Royal Forester I lived what would now be opposite Byworth Close. Did you live near there?

I was a few from the alley way which takes you through to Basingstoke Rd. The house looked onto the old car showroom was it? It's now a Lidl and some houses.

Re: What got you into supporting RFC?! And when you did who was your nearest team?

great thread, well played DD. Born in Reading (Coningham Road, Whitely Wood, probably no-one on here was born closer to the Mad stad.). Lived a long time in Tilehurst, so could walk to EP. Dad took me to EP in 1969, aged 8, v Port Vale or Mansfield (I think I saw both that season). Have followed th...

https://twitter.com/KieranMaguire/status/1247778318432079874?s=09 Just saw this on the Twitter. I thought our wages were higher than that. Does this mean we are just doing an awful job at making money rather than we hand out terrible contracts? Still begs the question of why we haven't done a stadi...

Re: Championship group administration possible ???

If they allow every Championship club to enter admin to clear their debts, then they have to let all Football League clubs do the same. I'm fully in favour of wage caps at all levels of world football. The game is completely out of control.

Re: Finance

Is it? Someone needs to tell Brentford. They're superb at buying from the lower divisions, just as we were, and when the right player comes along they spend a decent sum of money to add him to their talented and motivated group. 1 example out of 24 Championship clubs, ok cool. Also, Brentford are g...

Re: What got you into supporting RFC?! And when you did who was your nearest team?

Two great last posts..I was just a season or two behind you FSN....differing (but exciting times)...power cuts, odd kick-off times, Readings first black player (I live in what was once AA’s parents house just two miles from both grounds), the smell of damp clothing, beer and nicotine, lads from my ...

Re: What got you into supporting RFC?! And when you did who was your nearest team?

Was it family connections? A memorable game? Location? Lifelong thing? Do you still support and follow them? I grew up in the 80's in a family made up mostly of Liverpool and Man Utd fans, with one uncle being a Hammer, and my father being Chelsea. My club of choice was Liverpool and remained so un...

Re: Finance

We really need to go back to buying young hungry players from L1 and L2, and then add a semi expensive player as and when we can get them. It's a joke the likes of Moore are on around 30k a week at this level. Does he really warrant that money? I don't think so. Get back to our old successful model...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

This thread is utterly bizarre, on a forum about Reading football club first team, a random guy posts his interpretation of the limited and flawed data on a pandemic outbreak, and every other post is someone criticising him, or asking him to stop, and then he gets angry about it. Seriously, what's ...

Re: Finance

No London Irish income from next season won`t help- unless there is a deal that they will pay something as compensation for breaking the contract. I heard Brentford’s ground won’t be ready and so Irish have nowhere to play next season..... It looks well advanced on the latest timeline video. It's b...

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

Kyle Walker making the most of his youth and money by having a 3-sum with some high end escorts. I imagine most footballers have done or will do this. The papers are desperate for news.. It was reported as a 4some as he invited one of his mates round to enjoy the occasion too. That is something I w...

If you missed the state of our accounts from 2018/19, head over to Policies. Seems we've smashed another unwanted record.

Looks as if the accounts have been published and it`s not good news https://twitter.com/KieranMaguire?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor These are for 2018/19 lets not forget. Which meant last summer wasn't good news... i.e. being under the transfer embargo. However that was pro...
