Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

The Bellingham goal controversy https://twitter.com/willbrazier/status/1764055196622045450?t=4NOWkzp_K8lFrPZBBYY1Yg&s=19 The whistle clearly goes as the player hits the cross. No controversy really, it wasn't a goal. Refs generally do 3 peeps on the whistle at fulltime. When is the games over, ...

NathStPaul I like Onana. He's a shithouse.

This. He's got a bit of the Barthez about him.

Re: England - the future....

I'm down on here as one of Southgate's biggest supporters, he has been phenomenal for England. But what a bunch of players we now have. And frankly if Rice, Foden, Bellingham, Saka and Kane don't all start in our first match at the Euros (and any match for which they are available), then the guy is ...

Re: Weekend Football

Is this the part of the season where City relentlessly swat aside all in their path? Yes. They do look a little more vulnerable to the counter attack. I think Arsenal or Liverpool would have done them today. This. No guarantee Liverpool will next week though. A Liverpool win would make it really in...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

Would be very Liverpool, and arguably a good choice, to sniff around Ashworth for a bit and then poach Jason Wilcox from Southampton.

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

I feel old, part 512. Jason Koumas made his league debut for Tranmere in 1998, just before I left sixth form. Neil Danns played his first game for Blackburn Rovers in 2002, just after Ieft university. Last night their sons Lewis and Jayden both scored for Liverpool. Lee Clark's son Bobby also played...

Professional Football Compensation Committee tribunal rule that Chelsea need to pay £1M basic and various performance related add ons totalling £4.25M for 14 year old Shumaira Mheuka they have taken from Brighton. Brighton also get a 25% sell on. Looking forward to him being loaned out incessantly ...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Morton were bottom of the Scottish Championship a couple of months ago and looking terrible - but are on a charge and yesterday set an all-time club record of 16 matches unbeaten. Now safely in 4th place and closing the gap on the clubs above them. Also through to the Scottish Cup QFs. 12 of those ...

I like this. To celebrate their centenary, AIK of Sweden have released a replica of the kit they wore 100 years ago, and to commemorate it they had replica photos taken on a camera even older than that. https://twitter.com/HLTCO/status/1762572409406656655 https://www.soccerbible.com/media/155698/aik...

Notts County continue the most truly horrific of runs, and trash my season acca, this time letting in 4 goals at home to basement side Sutton  They were top of the league a couple of months into the season. It's like Keegan's Newcastle on steroids. Kamikaze stuff. Not often that a league's to...

Segunda Division near impossible to call. Leganes are top but have lost six times. They are just nine points ahead of 10th place Oviedo, and just 13 points ahead of Tenerife, who are 14th.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Brest is best, for now. Taking advantage of a so-so season in Ligue 1 for contenders not called PSG, Stade Brestois currently second in the league, albeit only ten points ahead of Marseille in 9th spot. Will be lots of competition for the CL spots this season. Brest has never played in Europe - and ...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Bologna have capitalised on a nice run of fixtures and won five in a row. They are 4th in Serie A and in the final CL spot - they have only reached the CL, then European Cup, once in their history, in 1964, and the 60s was also the last time they finished any higher than 5th in the league. Seven gam...

0-0 home draw for Almeria with Athletic Bilbao, now on to 9 points, and extending their La Liga record to 29 games without a victory. Cadiz are nearly as awful. They won two of their first four league games and sat sixth - and they haven't won since, 22 without a victory now. A 2-2 draw with Celta V...

Re: Weekend Football

Aren't you missing a league title there Brobs? You'd have loved Klop to have come in and turned Man U round like he has Liverpool. that's in the post above absolutely, but I don't think Klopp or Pep would have succeeded at Utd either. They'd still have had McFred, Maguire, Martial, DeGea etc on hug...

Liverpool’s under 21’s beating a £1bn Chelsea side is a great day for football This. Chelsea's 'super squad' of inexperience and poor quality humbled by a team that has seen eight academy graduates get a winners' medal. The club as a whole might not be, but Liverpool's cup winners an antidote to Ch...

Re: Weekend Football

I gather that there are changes next season - but it remains utterly silly that Man City v Brentford last night, and Liverpool v Luton tonight, be only available to watch legally outside of the UK, owing to blackout rules, and these games being moved outside of periods of TV fixture allocation.
