Re: MATCHWATCH : Millwall (a)

Personally I would keep either Sarr or Hutchinson on the bench. Millwall have a siege mentality and having one of those to come on towards the latter stages either to shore up or bunker down is a huge boost. With all due respect to Holmes or Tmac they wouldn't fill me with confidence if they come on...

Re: George Puscas leaving?

I would argue that Genoa put the obligation to buy at 4m - higher than our reported asking price - as leverage for only paying a % of his wages. The 4 players is madness and not happening. Sarr deal ratified and one other in. We still have a few out injured to come back in so lets not bloat our squa...

Re: Joao to West Brom nonsense.

Let's be honest, when Moore leaves next summer, we'll have enough cap space to fund a coup in a moderately unstable Central American country. Certain posters would go ballistic if instead of signing a striker we took over Venezuela. How that would work under FFP regulations I dread to imagine, alth...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

JedMaxwell Find me somewhere in Reading (or any) town centre where you could build a totally brand new 20k+ seater stadium.

Aldershit. Bulldoze a few acres there and it would improve how it looks.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I genuinely love it how annoyed and obsessed the oppo fans get with our stadium. Too many roads and roundabouts is a new one though. Do they live in a Hovis advert? I always find you make your own atmosphere, if you get so pent up about getting a taxi / bus to a stadium that it makes your day out a ...

Re: Joao to West Brom nonsense.

No idea why race has to be brought into this. Seems like shit stirring. Joao is not lazy, its just not his game to chase and run down defenders OR he has not been asked to chase them down previously. Blackburn, he was fresh legs against a team that ran ragged - he smelt blood. Middleborough, players...

Re: Joao to West Brom nonsense.

Absolutely staggered that there’s a proportion of Reading fans who dont think Joao is absolute class. :| He’d be a massive loss if he goes. No one is doubting his ability though. He can be the best striker in the league and he was when we had Olise / Swift / Ejaria on form and linking up with him. ...

Re: Joao to West Brom nonsense.

Oh I agree that a striker becomes priority, so I think Hutchinson goes away at that point and if we want a more attack minded midfielder we see who is still out there on a free. Loum will soon be first name on the teamsheet, so a 6th loan likely comes down to Fornah or Hendrick, so are both startin...

Re: Joao to West Brom nonsense.

Loans, we have to be careful with now. Whilst we still have room for 4 more loans, only 1 more can be in the matchday squad - so we have to be very sensible about who (if anyone) we loan in now - once you are at 5 loans it becomes trickier as most clubs will want the player being loaned to get a ce...

Re: Joao to West Brom nonsense.

He is our most saleable asset in his last year of his contract. If and its a big IF we can sell him AND bring in suitable replacement it should be an avenue to look into. IF we could bring in a player who is a known goal scorer on loan with a view to buy. Use the funds fromt he sale next season to s...

Re: Joao to West Brom nonsense.

Kind of agree. If a serious offer comes in, any well run club will have to weigh it up. I am not convinced Joao is integral to our game now. Last few seasons absolutely, however when he was out of the team or went missing the team just did not function. If we continue with the high pressing game I a...

Re: Squad Watch 2022/23

I think it depends who you could replace Joao with. My two downsides with Joao is his injury record and lack of work rate and the latter is important if Ince wants to play the high press / high energy style as demonstrated against .Blackburn. Downside of course is we lose his goals but are we harde...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

Bench them - bring them on in the latter stages of games. Hutch can do the defensive midfield cover if needed. Dann can come on and get injured i suppose...better than Holmes or Tmac getting a knock late on.

Re: Squad Watch 2022/23

Just seen a few twitter rumours regards Joao to WBA. One year left on contract and a high earner. He most likely wont sign a new deal on the terms we could give him. Anything above 8m plus good sell on clause / promotion clause I would say would be goods business. Getting Joao and Puscas wages off t...

Superb angling going on here.
Must have been paying attention to recent events. Lie so many times and deny everything, no one will be able to concentrate or separate the truth from the lies.

Re: BFTG - Blackburn Home

Refs need to get back to actually booking players who surround them. I thought this was a rule brought in a few seasons ago where only the captains could approach the ref along with the player in question. Stroud last night was running the risk of losing control, borderline dangerous for our players...

Re: BFTG - Blackburn Home

Yes though it’s strange how Blackpool were shocking, Cardiff were poor and now Blackburn as well. But not when they’ve played other teams (ask Swansea) They were limited. Had one idea and that was kick it to BBD. Put some good football together but generally in their own half They targeted NGW at t...

Re: BFTG - Blackburn Home

Amazing performance pulled out of no where. Expectation was so low going into the game and seeing some of those players perform was quite refreshing. Everything made sense, the passing patterns, movement and desire were all there for us to see. Lets hope that this was not a one off performance, if w...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (h)

I would set up to play as the away team. Sit back, keep tight and frustrate. Only thing I would change is that we play as a flat 5 at the back, dont get adventurous. Personnel / injuries will dictate who plays where - there is still plenty of time for more injuries to happen. Would be a great boost ...

Re: George Puscas leaving?

So twitter reports that we have put a price on his head. Sale of 2.5m euros. Its not crazy money in real terms, but for the level of the teams after him its a marquee signing. Just to rub salt in the wounds, reported that he doesn't want to lose out on his £900,000 a year salary either. So that wil...
