Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Club 1871 dictating to fans how to celebrate and to not go towards the away fans. Trying to ruin the organic atmosphere and elation of scoring a goal after being goaded all game by away fans. I've never understood why anyone wants to spend 2 hours shouting at strangers based on purely their ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Charlton Athletic (h) sponsored by Dave Shipperley

don't fancy Plough Lane? New Plough Lane..probably not. I enjoyed a childhood running away from opposing skinhead fans there, but going back to a Mk II version would be like going out with an ex, after she’d had a boob job. Onwards and upwards. Went to a game recently (Portman Rd) the Wombles were ...

Re: Crowd for Charlton

The Arsenal game wasn’t meh either. They had close to their best line up that day and we pushed them all the way. The Huddersfield game was appalling. I still remember the terriers Wembley thing with clarity and waves of boredom. They were a Mooy one-man-army, and we looked like a team that wanted ...

And then when people start coming and the stadium is more full everyone will moan it is full of plastics. You can't win. Market forces. Dull football, fewer people watch it. Exciting football with a chance of something happening, more people watch it. It is no surprise that the stadium seemed more ...

Re: BFTG - CharltonAdie who

Just out of interest, why do so many on here have it in for Club 1871? They've been brilliant all three home games I think. Just seems odd to criticize your own fans who are trying to make a difference. Can’t see any negative comments about them on here, just that they were out sung, which they wer...

Royal Ginger Taking off your defenders replacing them all with strikers isn’t a plan B.

+10m
Jesus H Christ what a sh!t show. Even Swift gave up in about the 87 Minute carrying the “team”.

Ah well, probably we’ll escape relegation again.

Oh, and Meite, we know we know you’ve had a rough deal. But..

Well there’s someone one who got most points right, and still lost the war. Taylor and several more animals seemed to have free reign. Dirtiest game, oh, since Yorkshire’s Coca Cola franchise. May the flees of a thousand camels infest his & their armpits.

WestYorksRoyal Is Ovie young enough to be eligible for U21s? I expect he'll get a call up this season if form continues. Great for Richards though, and good for our academy too.

Oviemuno born 18 November 1997 (as per Wiki, I wasn’t there). Got to get called up at some stage. Just maybe natural LBs are rarer?

Hound did anyone watch that 'Secret Teacher' programme on C4 last night? The school featured was Forest School - which I believe is where the academy players go to school. It looked a right dump tbh

Their junior teams are seriously good. My son always has a “face” on, going there away.

They have some good points on their forum tbh: "Reading has got the dirtiest KFC I've ever seen, that dirty that I walked straight past " "It had the same greasy hand marks and tomato sauce splatters over the windows for the whole 2 weeks I worked there." "I've always stood...

Do you speak from experience? :? For others, yeah. I try and keep them from the second scenario. I'd get so buff in prison though... worth the risk? Never did Branson any harm, but tread carefully, grasshopper. Not an issue with the rich relics / clients I deal with. Though always nice meeting thei...

It’s overrated. You either hand over most of it to HMRC, or you’re swapping ciggies for a steady broadband at Her Majesty’s Pleasure, sooner or later.

That’s the good news. The bad news is the four riders of the apocalypse on pitch, holding up play, as if waiting for something. Just ask the goalie.

I'm sure Gomes was open to using Nova as an option though when he was training with us this summer. If he had impressed him sufficiently in training and on the tour, he would have been kept with the squad. And actually, if Howe hadn't suddenly found x Million down the sofa at the end of the Transfe...

Should be a good home game next week. The Addict!*zzs did to the bees what we did to the pooch pack, except at home and by a narrower margin, 1-0 going into 4 minutes overtime is never the calmest of pleasures. How they are 3rd overall is a bit of a mystery, but no doubt they will try to surprise an...

Oh bullshit. Are you trying to claim that Moore et al have no genuine passion for football and the team? There are very few players that really don't care. Look what us being safe from relegation meant to the players last season - even ones on loan, out of favour, or at the ends of their contracts ...

Not so sure. Last night’s commentary re us was very well behaved. Don’t think they said “tinpot” once :)
