Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h)

We seem to get a bit confused when we make 4 or 5 passes in a row and immediately play something ridiculous to then give it straight away.

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h)

Royal Ginger P Ince and Lumley both out with ‘illness’. Ejaria missing too.

Bout of the ‘rona going round do we think?

Long was recently down with a virus, so quite possibly.

Decent line up considering.

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h)

JR I still think 28/1 to score any time is crazy odds for someone who has chances at set pieces every home game (Holmes)

He's only managed 1 in 87 starts.

I reckon the bookies still come out comfortably ahead on that one.

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

I like to think the key for most people is did we give them a chance to prove themselves able to compete at this level. If its yes, then letting them go is fair enough. Antonio, Loader, Fosu (bit more iffy) Tshibola, Kelly, Taylor, Hector, Kuhl, Cooper, Azeez, Tetek... If no, and they make it then n...

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

Tbh, with their injury records I think the only one who'd care would be Paul, and only about Azeez. If you can't be fit for more than 5 games in a row in what will be 2 years by the end of the season, the only blame if they go on and succeed elsewhere is on the medical team, nothing to do with the c...

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

So we have 2 out and out CBs left available with Yiadom who can do a more that satisfactory job with the RCB. Guess Mbengue is first back up then we are looking at moving Loum back there or sticking an Academy team. Going to be very stretched until the WC now. Still comparative riches compared to a...

Midfield requires huge workrate, energy and defensive spatial awareness.

SWIFT

A midfielder, with more of those attributes than Joao, a striker, and lots of midfield experience. Plus someone we're doing better without.

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h)

At least we can all agree lumping up balls for him to head is a terrible idea Absolutely. He could do with varying his game a little though... too often he gets sucked in to the battle for position to the point he loses track of where the ball is. I think he's become too predictable and easy for a ...

Leroy from lower Bristol Kitson from Lower Cambridge Doyle and Long from some random Irish nobodies but ! . No ! we have to show interest in Top scorers in Bundesliga league , serial A etc. who cost 20 million plus ! RFC fans must be the most stupid ret*&&ds ever !! For every long and doyle...

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h)

We've had some spectacularly bad ideas in the past, but playing Joao in midfield has to be up there with the worst. Plays him out of position to none of his strengths. Midfield requires huge workrate, energy and defensive spatial awareness. Joao is best taking people on around the box and holding th...

Not sure who I would like to win the title less. Arteta’s team of cheats (Jesus, Saka and Martinelli - pathetic the trio of them) or City who are spend spend spend I like Potter so would want Chelsea to win but think it’ll be one season too soon for them You should give up watching football. It is ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h)

Thanks Sutekh Interesting one this. WBA look in a false position but obvs one we’d really like to win if we’ve any pretence of being top 6 Would bring Ejaria in I think. Hopefully Long is fit for the bench again. Up front is a conundrum- imo Carroll/Ince might be the best current combo but then we’...

Re: Ince & Ince appreciation thread.

I'm going to put it out there that there must be plenty of Championship clubs who will be very interested in how we managed to secure teh services of Shane Long and Andy Carroll given our spending embargo. I don't think there will be . all transfers need to be approved by the EFL. If they didn't fi...

Re: Rival Watch

I've read over my dinner that it's their U23 coach alongside James Morrison and someone else who is temporarily taking charge of the first team, although it did not say over what timeframe. Ultimately it can swing either way, could end up being a Gary O'Neil at Bournemouth or it could be an Andy Da...

Rather bitty second half. No real danger, but couldn’t really craft much clear cut, despite having the better of them.

Yeah, I don’t see how it's within a matchday ref's remit to decide to ignore a fundamental ruling for the game. Correct outcome is a replay for me, but given the horrendous schedule I wouldn't be surprised if its quietly ignored and Wigan get a fine or something. It’s got to be within the remit of ...

Never a pen for the fake hoops. Just seen it again and I just can't see the foul. Seriously? Clear as day. Ours was more debatable. Both were clear pens. Was however convinced QPR were going to get one as soon as we got away with the handball in the first half. Any little contact in the box was goi...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Queens Park Rangers (a)

For all the criticism of Joao recently he did win the penalty for us with his quick footwork (good touch for a big man as they say  ). Unfortunately the pairing of him and Carroll doesn't work too well and as the season goes on and, as always with us subject to fitness, I can see Shane Long p...
