Re: BFTG Wigan

I thought we were decent today. Crowd were great and a big part in the equaliser. It showed up our lack of confidence going forward and also lack of creative player in the middle. Liked McIntyre in CDM and didn’t mind the team selection to bring on the semi fit Meite and youth late on. Felt for Shan...

Re: BFTG Wigan

We relegated two teams with that Yak goal. Why not make it a hat-trick on Coronation Monday? As a club of unique records, has one club ever been (semi) directly responsible for relegating all 3 clubs below them? Not sure that is correct, Blackpool were relegated already I shall get my coat. Apologi...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h)

Did what we had to do today, which was not lose. If Terriers get 4 points from Cardiff and Sheff Utd then fair play they deserve to stay up. If not then they will be the team under pressure - much better for us to be the hunter then play for a draw. Who realistically thought we could win two on the...

Re: Will relegation hurt you?

I don’t really understand the negativity of this thread and the resigned tone of everyone posting on it. To all intensive purposes our survival is in our own hands and it ‘just’ requires two wins against the 23rd and 21st placed teams in the league. In most circumstances you would say that is quite ...

Warnock added: "I hope everybody survives, I hope Cardiff, ourselves and Rotherham survive. So you know who I want to go down!" I really hate Colin... with a passion As much as we’d like to think this is him winding us up because of a long term vendetta against mighty Reading. It’s as sim...

Re: Car Park Options

Old speedway car park is definitely the answer if you are heading toward central Reading direction after as it has its own exit lane on A33. Huge and closest non stadium car park. £8 if book in advanced. Reading station bus service is also an excellent option that flies in to town at final whistle.

Re: Noel Hunt appreciation thread

@JR Weren't we saying pretty much the same first two things about Ince when first got here? Yes we were. “Galvanised” comes to mind I wish Noel all the very very best here. I truly do I don’t think Ince would ever have said the points record was important. In fact he would certainly have played it ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burnley (h)

It’s amazing what happens when you send your players out with a positive and aggressive mindset.

Superb effort and commitment and with a bit more quality on the crosses it could have been better.

Nearly perfect results elsewhere also.

Come on! We’ve got our 106!

Hunt's first line up: ....................Lumley ..Yiadom, Holmes, Sarr, NGW ....Hendrick, Casadei, Fornah ......Azeez, Joao, Ehibhatiomhan Boyce-Clarke, Abrefa, Dann, Mbengue, Loum, Camara, Carroll There's a lot right here. Great to see Camara back on the bench. Plenty of youth. Decent pace upfron...

Franchise FC OK, if we had the choice of keeping the record OR staying up, where do we go ?

Sorry, not relevant for this thread and one of this pointless theoretical questions.

Noel Hunt appreciation thread

Three things filled me with optimism when reading Noel’s first interview this week: - he’s bringing the squad together, sees everyone as important and aligning them on a common goal - he has stated a desire to be aggressive, attacking and get the ball down and encourage players to play without fear ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burnley (h)

I am also in the "prefer to stay up>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>106 record" camp. Who holds the record for Div 1 and Div 2? Exactly, nobody cares and whilst it was great to get promoted that season with record points the much bigger thing was getting promoted. Our record is not a championship record -...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burnley (h)

Surprised nobody has yet mentioned the 106 significance of this game.

Not only would a shock win be massive for our survival hopes, but it would also secure our 106 record for another season! Even a draw would mean they could only tie.

Oh to be singing ‘we’ve got our 106!’

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a)

Ascotexgunner All started from the dickhead who passed back to Lumley when we were attacking.

I agree with this - was just watching for a few minutes and saw him kick the ball away at a throw-in and do that ridiculous pass back. A mentality that invited a last minute goal.

A contender for the most nailed on home win in the history of football. I would not go to this game if you offered me a free ride in a Lear jet And luxury box. For those who go I salute you. But you really do need to evaluate where you are heading in life. Clearly they are favourites, but we’ve onl...

Re: Mark Bowen

Reading Bowen’s open letter motivated me to get a babysitter so that I could attend the game and cheer on the boys as loud as possible.

Positive and open communication could really help turn this club around over the next few years.
