Re: How bad would relegation be?

The one reason I think that relegation wouldn't be the end of the world is that at least it would take the pressure off the new managers a bit and give them breathing space to build long-term. We expect new managers to get results immediately - and are (usually) only a few poor results away from be...

Re: ‘We played well between the goals’

Forbury Lion Harold Shipman was a great doctor in between murders (are we still playing this game?)

Only between the bits when we aren't.

Re: Andy Carroll

Some Baggies fans are apparently really critical of WBA over this signing saying it’s a real lack of ambition and how utterly useless he was when Reading turned and pretended to play football just before Xmas. They’ll apparently now have Carroll, Zohore and Hugill fighting over the one striker spot...

Re: Ex Players

We've done more than our fair share of taking advantage of teams in financial difficulties in the past (York, Cambridge Cork City) Yes this happens in football to all clubs but hopefully the club have learned to minimise the possibility by offering highly promising youngsters longer contracts rathe...

Re: Ex Players

Excellent article by Benjy on the Chronicle website. Nicky Forster on his time in football. One interesting thing Nicky says is, the best managers he worked under were Pardew, Coppel and Gus Poyat. because although they gave to players a framework to work in, they gave the players the ability to ma...

Re: Dai Yongee and Dayong Pang don't care

He can't stop owning the club without selling or winding us up. Either we have a new owner or cease to exist if he walks away. If we cease to exist, he loses everything he's put in. Your argument can't happen. Or putting us into administration whilst owning a lot of the assets that the club has a u...

Re: Dai Yongee and Dayong Pang don't care

If they choose to walk away, without selling; they will have to repay the debt that they have guaranteed; from their own resources. And then we would have no owners and debt that isn't credited to the Dai's would then stack up and up and up again. Who pays for the stadium, the players, the staff, t...

Re: Official RFC Clownovic Day. The protest thread

In my mind it is the wrong match for a protest, Aren't the club putting on extra attractions etc. and have sold over 20000 tickets? Hard to see how , say a thousand wigs/clowns or a before game protest will make much of an impact. The protests may not be covered as much by the media as they will hav...

Re: Pauno in or out Mk3

Is anyone else curious what VP was referring to in the post game interview about something he doesn't want to talk about publicly that needs sorting out? Guessing it's the situation with Liam Moore, maybe it's a bigger deal than we realised Moore is clearly fit and given the state of our defence sh...

2-0 up pegged back to 2--2 but still win 3---2. We should play them instead of the men. No one will notice will they? But. I suppose more fight, more confidence and better players and tactics will be noticed. Pity it's a non starter then. Shame we lost Frank Irby. Got Nat Dowie though! Could just u...

Re: Rival Watch

If Derby do go tits up and all their players' contracts get ripped up, can they be signed as free agents outside the window or do they have to wait for the summer? Probably depends if they are ripped up before the window closes. But, I don't know if there is a clause in EFL's/FIFA rule book to cove...

Re: Ex Players

Good article on the Chronicle website by Benjy. About Jay Tabb, a good read about his time at the Mad Stad, before and after as well. Benjy seems to be a good journo. Goes out and finds stories, in the slacker days. He is destined for things greater than the Chronicle, I think.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Can we be that surprised that the players don't seem to bother? How many of last nights squad have contracts that run out in the summer? Pauno has said the club is in talks with the players they want to keep. So, how many of those out of contract in the squad last night know they are not wanted next...

Guessing a contract is still on the table, and it hasn't been signed or officially rejected. Hence no update. Telling us negotiations are ongoing and a decision is likely/not likely to be reached in the coming days in an example of an update though. The club has said he has been offered a contract ...
