Re: Tribute to Robin Friday on F365

Legendary. The greatest. Easy words and phrases to bandy around. In Friday's case, undoubtedly true. As a nipper I watchedpretty much all his home games in the Hoops from the Town End with another young Nobber. My Dad came to watch RFC in those days and sat in B stand just to see Friday. Strap and B...

Re: England v Kazakhstan 11/10/08 KO:17.15

I don't understand this. What I saw from the Croatian game was an England team actually working out that they *could* play in something approaching 'European' ... What they had under the previous management was too slow and too aimless. Basically: just sh1t. Yes, I can see the tautology, papereyes....

Re: England v Kazakhstan 11/10/08 KO:17.15

Deathy - I would usually agree with your perception of the national team over the past couple of years or so but there was most definitely a spark in the last performance - which is why I am going to Berlin next month for a bloody "friendly". I think we're showing signs of being "back...

Re: Harper a little concerned

Don't know where I stand on the Harper issue - but I'm with what Mags said above, literally and figuratively. I think it's generally recognised that Harper is a "good'un". Barking mad, great for the squad, essential player for all but the last season and a bit... Shows the strength we actu...

Re: 107 Points?

I'll be delighted with 86 points and 75 goals... Of course, 100 of each would be even better. Can one of you Excel spods come up with some comparison graphs between this year and 05/06 on an ongoing basis, and a maximum target graph and, oh, that points target for promotion one was good, too... You ...

Re: Sculptor needed for a statue of Coppell - RIGHT NOW!

Ooooo, ooooo, I've come over all wibbly wobbly at the thought of brendy rubbing the gnome's little baldy head.... ahem. How about JM stumps up the cash for Damian Hirst to do one of his poncey arty creations - stick stiff Steve in a pot of formaldehyde or summat? Or have him sculpted in papier mache...

Re: 10 games in - time to re-assess?

Bloody hell, strap, you climbing down off of the fence?! ;-) You're so right most of the time and much better for it when you don't pour your vitriol over the Mad Man. Yes, he may be a tight git but we're all the better for it - both financially and as a "team". Besides, whose to say that ...

Re: 10 games in - time to re-assess?

Chillipepper - no, I wasn't be sarcastic and it seems you and I paddle the same canoe. I'm not a simpering RTG neither am I in any way an STG... Whatever that maybe. Hopefully, I'm just a rational, objective, hopelessly devoted supporter of RFC. And I thank God we have the Mad Man, SSC, Squeaky and ...

Re: 10 games in - time to re-assess?

1960 and chillipepper: considered, balanced and you admit your shortcomings of not being a fully signed up RTG. Fact is we would be nowhere without SSC. Thank the Lord for the CPC. We might make the play-offs but the future with SSC, Squeaky and Eamonn Dolan - and yes, the Mad Man - is bright. Heave...

Re: RUMOUR - Doyle to West Ham for 7.5m

Agreed, at this moment in time, Harewood is better than Lita but he's a real donkey who does flatter to deceive. A charged up, dropped ego Lita, though, is a different matter. Also agreed, that there are 100s of crap stikers knocking around and it says something when Tommy Smith at Watford or Nugent...

I was there today - just for a change - and I'm afraid to say that Kebe is a clown.... sure he has some twisty turning skill but nobody - least fo all him - knows what the feck he is going to do with it before he either runs in to an oppo defender or hoofs it too long or out on the cross. Re: Dissapointed- The goal that Never was.

No 17 - I was wondering on the way back if anyone else in the RFC end was at the Rochdale game in the 70s.... I was right behind the Town End goal that day and saw it clear as anything. Needless to say, I saw b*gger all today being the full length of the pitch away.... Sod it, we deserved three poin...

All four 'officials' were quite simply atrocious. We should have been 3 up in first ten mins. Poor header from N Hunt and two great saves from their third choice keeper after Poom had tried to GBH Doyle and got injured.Goal that never was - very bizarre.Gave two away through elementary defending and ...
